ELEVEN SLICE OF LIME

—✧—✧—✧—✧—✧—

DELIA HAD TRIED to figure out the mystery of the golden egg, after the tournament and during the celebrations. When everyone had started to cheer for her to open up the golden egg; and she did. But then quickly closed it after a shrieking noise almost broke her (and everyone else's) eardrums. Which is when she started to become even more curious about it because, how on earth is this thing supposed to help her with the next task?

So during the 'SLYTHERIN'S FIRST' party, she had grabbed Pansy and Daphne by the wrists and dragged them away from the celebrations and into their dormitory, where they tried just about everything they could think of.

It had reached the point where the three of them were growing slowly insane, and decided that they should wait a while before trying again. This was decided after Daphne had tried to sit on the egg claiming, "Maybe we have to hatch it. Like a mother dragon, or something." Which didn't make any sense at all since they could already open the egg, but whatever. The stupid thing doesn't do anything anyways except make their ears bleed and attract the mermaids from the lake.

Which, by the way, mermaids are nothing like she thought they would be. Like, you know how in all of the fairytales they sing, dance, and are just so beautiful that they make everyone jealous? Yeah, they're nothing like that. They don't sing and dance, and (no offence) but they're certainly not beautiful. Pretty much the opposite, actually. They're frail, mean, and scary. And of course, the gills don't help either. Geez. Why is her common room under the lake again? What purpose does that serve?

But anyways — the next task isn't for a couple more months. But Delia's not done trying to figure it out. How can she be? Yeah, she's in first place now. But she'll have to keep her head straight and keep working to figure out the egg to stay ahead of everyone if she wants to remain in first place. Which she does.

But it's fine. She doubts that any of the other champions have figured out their egg yet. So, she figures that she's already ahead in that aspect. They'll probably wait until the last minute or the night before the task — or something stupid like that. Morons. Unless Karkaroff decides to be a biased piece of rubbish again. She'll have to fix that problem. Soon.

So, yeah. Maybe it's a bad idea that Delia skipped dinner and remained in the Slytherin common room to try and figure out this stupid egg — which she still has no idea what the hell to do with. Or how to solve it, for that matter. Which, again, not one of her better ideas, since when all her friends pour into the common room after dinner, her stomach is growling.
