—✧—✧—✧—✧—✧—
DELIA LIKES TO think of herself as an overachiever. And although some extremely bitter people in her life have called her much worse, and even said that the word overachiever is an understatement, in the end that's all it boils down to.
Ever since she was little, Delia's always been ambitious and determined to be the best and get to the top. Sure, she might stomp on a couple of people to get there, but it's never really been her fault. They were all just in the way of her success. And like her mother always tells her, "If there's something in the way, get rid of it!" And that's essentially all Delia does. She just gets rid of obstacles!
It was (she likes to think) one of the biggest reasons why she was so highly respected at her old school. She was adored by everyone, and for good reason. Maybe it was just a tiny bit manipulative how she ended up on everyone's good side and used it to her advantage, but she was just using her resources. It's not Delia's fault that other people don't possess the same charming qualities that she does.
And in her defence, it was pretty easy. She didn't even have to try. All she had to do was make a good first impression, keep that image going for a while, and slowly start using people to her advantage.
She thought that she'd had everything under control — back at her old school — but then some new girl arrived and tried to undermine her! Of course, Delia let it slide for a bit because Dianne was new and she might've not known how things worked, but even after a couple of weeks she wouldn't quit it.
And yeah. Maybe attempted murder was just a bit extreme, even her parents had gotten angry with her for that — and they've always been super supportive and encouraging towards Delia and her ambitions. But, to be fair, in the end, Dianne Johnson was just another obstacle standing between Delia and success. Obstacles were made to be overcome, one way or another.
This is just another obstacle in her way. She has to assess the situation and get rid of it. Easy as pie.
"Where is my bracelet?" she shouts as she storms down the stairs.
Lyla and Fiona are stood beside her packed luggage and the other girls' trunks. The door is still slightly ajar from when Delia's parents had left, after saying goodbye and wishing their daughter the best of luck. "Make me proud," Vincent had said. "Show them who's in charge," Gianna had said. The two older girls look at Delia, confused.
"What bracelet?" Fiona asks.
"Don't be coy," she snaps. "You know the one. Silver? With the D on it? The one I always wear. Where is it?"
