—✧—✧—✧—✧—✧—FOURTEEN BLUES CLUES
—✧—✧—✧—✧—✧—
THE COLD IS ONE of Delia's worst enemies. She hates it. Of course, there's things she likes about it. Like the way that when the sun hits the snow just right, it looks like a million crystals are glimmering. Or the way that when the snow coats everything it looks like a winter wonderland. And there's the way that the very tip of her nose and her cheeks flush pink from the cold — a natural blush.
But she hates how the cold makes her nose runny, and how it feels like all her joints are freezing up. Not to mention the way that her entire body feels frozen, that no amount of layering could warm her up. Especially when it's cold and windy. Like today.
She's enjoying this trip to Hogsmeade with her friends, though.
Pansy had convinced her to come, even though Delia really wanted to get back to working on the egg. The Ball was a distraction — one she might've needed, she'll admit — but a distraction nonetheless. She needs to get back on top of it. For all Delia knows, all the other champions have figured theirs out already. She can't be the only one to face the second task unprepared.
When Delia told all this to Pansy, the horrid girl had brought out her debating skills and stated that Delia couldn't miss her first Hogsmeade trip with her friends, it's a right of passage — one she'd be stupid to miss. When that didn't work, Pansy had promised to get back to the schedule they had before; working on the egg as consistently and as much as they were before. So, begrudgingly, Delia agreed.
Which is why she's currently sandwiched in a booth at the Three Broomsticks between Pansy and Daphne, with Draco and Theodore opposite of them. She thinks it's unfair, that the two of them have a spacious booth to themselves, whilst she's got to squeeze in between two of her friends on the opposite side, but, she's not complaining. At least this way she's warmer.
She's sipping on her butterbeer, which is surprisingly good, as she smiles and laughs along with the rest of her friends. "The look on Potter's face," Draco gloats. "It was amazing."
Delia had heard briefly about what happened to the Care of Magical Creatures teacher (or, ex-teacher?) but she didn't really pay much mind to it. She never cared for him as much as any of the Gryffindors did. So when she heard that he was removed from his position as a teacher, she couldn't bring herself to care all that much. Besides, how could she when Professor Grubbly-Plank had brought in a real unicorn for all the girls to pet?
