I quickly left the kingdom.

"Find the princess, now!" I heard the guards from further away.

I was being forced into a marriage I didn't want.

I decided to take things into my own hands.

I cut a wig short and wore men's clothes and acted like a civilian.

I was on my way to the kingdom up north where I'd be safe.

My father knew of this, it was his plan.

I rode on the horse he gave me up north, shivering at the freezing temperatures.

I got off my horse and entered the village.

"How much for the night?" I asked the owner of the barn.

"20 cents." I nodded and gave him the money, saying goodbye to the horse.

I got looks from some of the unwedded women and made my way towards the motel.

I bought a room for myself and once I was situated inside I looked at my hands.

I lifted my shirt, exposing the royal mark every royal had.

It was a symbol of a crown. Mine was a tiara.

I sighed and looked at the newspaper that held the events for the week.

Ball for unwedded men and women, a meeting for all civilians, etc etc.

I went out, buying some clothes for myself.

Hearing some women gossiping about where they think I was from.

A warm body bumped into mine.

They were dressed in masculine clothes but their face looked so soft and feminine.

Those green eyed sparkled in the light.

"I'm sorry." Their lips curved up into a smile.

"It was my fault." I blushed, immediately cursing myself for it.

They chuckled.

"I'm Laurence." He extended his hand toward me.

"I'm Y/M/N." (your male name) I shook his hand, feeling his silky skin against mine.

"This may sound crazy, but do you maybe want to grab a coffee with me?" I smiled, feeling my cheeks burn with the slight embarrassment.

"Sure, I'd like that." I followed the man to the coffee shop, getting looks from many women inside.

"You're a real eye catcher." I chuckled at his comment.

"Thank you?" He laughed.

"Seems like the ladies love you. I mean those bright Y/E/C colored eyes really stand out." I smiled, the waiter coming and taking our orders.

"So, I don't think I've seen you around. Where are you from?" After a sip of my coffee that had arrive I began to speak.

"I'm from the southern kingdom. I'm here looking for work." I spoke, looking into his green orbs.

There was a softness to them that I had never seen before.

"The southern kingdom? I heard the princess is missing." I nodded my head.

"Yeah! Something about an arranged marriage gone wrong." I shrugged, playing with my coffee.

"That's crazy. I can't even imagine that." He sipped his coffee.
