"I can't do this, Father! You know I'm not-"
(You're known as Prince Grayson, but only close friends and family call you by your preferred name, Y/N. G!P you. Changed the ages of the girls. You are 21, Lauren is 21, Camila is 16, Ally is 25.)
"Nonsense! You will go to the ball and find someone to marry and we'll go through with tradition. Just because you were born differently, doesn't mean you're not my boy. You're the future king.""Father, I'm not a boy! Look at me! I have feminine features, I have breasts instead of pectorals! Father, I'm a girl! The only thing manly about me is my-"
He held up his hand, quieting me.
I wiped my tears away.
"We will go through with tradition and you will inherit the throne. That's it. Don't make me call in your mother."
"Y-Yes sir." I sniffled, going outside and into the garden.
I sat at that familiar piano.
Lauren's POV
I was in the garden, watching a boy go and sit at the piano. He was slim and had muscular arms.
But when the person began to sing, I knew I wasn't looking at a boy.
She was female and the closer I got, I could see that.
She had soft, feminine features and smooth skin. Her hair fell down her chest in beautiful waves.
But she was dressed in masculine clothes.
The girl's fingers played the piano so effortlessly.
"Really can't remember where I left my spine. Carrying my body in a bag for dimes. Hidden in the pages of the New York Times at home." I listened intently, feeling a rush of calm from the girl's beautiful voice.
It was soft and vulnerable.
"Maybe I'll be better if I take my meds, Aint a double header if you use your head. Tried a medication that I bought instead, it's working for a little but there's not much left. Darling don't you weep, there's a place for me. Somewhere we can sleep, I'll see you in your dreams." I hid further behind a tree when I saw someone come out, waking towards the beautiful woman.
"Y/N."
"Don't touch me, Camila." The woman warned.
I watched, peaking my head out as the woman dressed in a dress sat next to the other woman.
"Y/N, you know the rules."
"Fuck the rules, Camila!"
Princess Camila. Prince Grayson's little sister.
"Come on, dad wants you in for dinner." The younger girl stood up, gently grabbing her sibling by the arm.
Both women left, leaving me a bit confused.
Your POV
I sat at the dinner table in silence, eyes down on my food that I had hardly touched.
"Gray." I looked up, noticing that Camila had gone and so had my father.
"Mom." I teared up and she sighed.
"I know, I know your father has made his decision. But you know you'll always be my little girl." She opened her arms out for me and I climbed into them.
"Shh, you're okay. Everything will work out." She whispered to me, wiping my tears away.
That night when I was getting dressed for bed, that familiar maid came into my room.
