-Thoughts-
/Parseltongue writing/Dinner soon came around, Dumbledore gave his usual nutty speech and Maeve sat with her group surrounded by the other first years followed by the older years. She was planning on waiting patiently to send her letter out, but she was antsy to get any information. Maeve whistled sharply, and the sound resonated throughout the Great Hall causing students near her to wince.
The sound of heavy wings flapping caught her attention, and her regal owl appeared. Standing firmly on her shoulder, careful not to hurt her, the owl lent down and nuzzled his head against her cheek.
"Hello, Samael," Maeve cooed affectionately with a sweet smile. "I have a letter for you to send to Gringotts, can you do that? Stop for no one, alright, sweet boy?" She gently tied the letter around his out-stretched leg with a delicate red ribbon.
Maeve handed him a slice of bacon before waving him off, she could feel Dumbledore glaring holes in the side of her head. He must be pooling with curiosity, the need of knowing had to be overwhelming for him. She smirked, it was amusing to dangle a secret in front of the old man's face like it was food and watch him chase after it like a dog.
She turned to her group, a small smile on her face. "I will not be spending lunch in Hogwarts tomorrow, I'll be eating with my godfather." She informed her friends.
"Will father be picking you up?" Draco asked, after he swallowed a bite of his pastry.
Maeve nodded, before subtly pointing her head at the long table. "Mhm, he said Dumbledore tried to refuse. But, as he's not my guardian and has no control over me, he does not have the authority to do so." They all shared a smirk.
She wiped her face clean of any expression when she noticed Parkinson walking towards her, merely raising a brow when the short haired girl stood before her. "Parkinson, is there a reason you decided to interrupt my lunch?"
"I can't stand waiting around for something to happen! When are you going to 'handle' me? Or was that a lie?" She wore an idiotic smug look as though she won something.
The Great Hall grew quiet quickly, if Parkinson thought she was challenging Maeve's authority then she was sorely mistaken. The little pug-faced girl had a storm coming her way. And when she collapses under the pressure, Maeve will be there to put her out of her misery.
Maeve, ignoring everyone present, stood up with a deceiving smile. "I was thinking of ignoring your insult as you clearly didn't know who was in charge or the rules but seeing as you think you can toss my kindness aside, how about I show you just how truthful I was being." She paused, revelling in the rapidly paling face of the girl. "Or you can get on your knees and beg for forgiveness, I might be swayed to spare you." She gave a wicked smirk.
"Is there a problem, hm?" Maeve nearly lost her composure when she heard the old goat's voice, had she really been so heated that she didn't notice him approaching?
She plastered a sugary sweet smile on her face and shook her head. "None, Headmaster. Merely a disagreement on Parkinson's part, but I'm sure she has collected herself enough to allow us to eat in peace. Right?" Maeve through a sharp glare at the girl when Dumbledore turned to look at her.
"That's right, I'll go eat now." She turned to walk away, hellbent on not being around the angry short girl any longer. But...
"Oh, and Parkinson, this conversation isn't over. Enjoy your meal."
Maeve sat back down, ignoring Dumbledore so he'd get the hint and leave. No such luck..
"Ms. Potter, after breakfast tomorrow morning can you join me in my office? I'd like to discuss something very important with you." He gave his signature grandfatherly smile, blue eyes twinkling with secrets that had Maeve itching to reveal.
