Maeve appeared back in the Headmaster's office, relieved to see it was empty, no old man with an overly long beard in sight. Though, she did notice a beautiful phoenix with crimson feathers and golden tail as long as a peacock's. He looked roughly the same size as a swan, his claws and beak were a gleaming gold--the beak was quite long--and his eyes were black, staring straight at her.

The fireplace flickered an emerald green before Lord Malfoy walked through and stood beside her. His pale blue eyes took in the sight of the captivating bird, the familiar of Albus Dumbledore. "I'll accompany you downstairs before taking my leave, without the Headmaster present to announce your return I fear you may get in trouble for being out near curfew."

The young girl knew he was right, as did Loki judging by his agreeing hiss. The professors who were the most prejudice will most likely try to write her off with a detention bigots they are. She knew McGonagall would do it as she had particular disliking towards Maeve, the old biddy was clearly out to torment her. It'd be amusing to watch, the older thinking she could get the best of her. She grew up keeping animals in check, she'd do the same with wizards and witches alike. "It'd be most appreciated, only few professors actually tolerate me I believe they do not like the fact that their golden girl was placed in a house full of snakes. " She said with the intentions to draw out Lord Malfoy's more analytical side, hoping he'd draw conclusions to think the professors were incompetent and unworthy to be teaching their next generation.

His eyes narrowed, lips thinning in distaste. "They pick you out for being a Slytherin?" He asked, his tone was deceivingly calm. "It is quite unethical, I find it very displeasing that Albus allows such adults to be near children of our future. Wouldn't you agree?"

Maeve appreciated the way Lord Malfoy spoke to her as someone capable of understanding and not like some child(ignoring the fact that she was indeed still one). "I agree completely, the Headmaster seems unfit to watch over hundreds of students. I worry his old age might be catching up to him," the young first year had no qualms using the old mans words against him, not when it would be used to her advantage. "Lord Malfoy, if I may ask, have you gotten any word on when we can set the meeting to discuss the removal of professor Binns?"

"I've brought the matter up to the board, a meeting will be set up and they will most likely have someone from the ministry monitor Hogwarts to try and find any other faults." He replied, his eyes were focused forward as they made their way down to the dungeons. The halls were vacant, she had no clue as to where Dumbledore could be but he could be dead for all she cared.

She approved the idea of having someone come to Hogwarts to look for places that needed improvements, there were many things that could do with a few changes. Namely in the professors and some of the awful subjects the school is teaching. Defense against the Dark Arts had made no sense to her, hopefully professor Quirrell could shed some light and explain it in more details. "It's a good place to start, I haven't been here very long but I've noticed things that could be better."

Lord Malfoy hummed, he seemed to agree with her statement. Things could be better and it was time for changes to be made. "Albus will have to be made aware, though, he should know that he has no say in what the board or the Ministry of Magic do or not do."

"He seems to have a habit of putting his nose where it shouldn't be," Maeve said, more than willing to provide details on how Dumbledore seems hellbent on becoming closer to her despite her refusals. "He seems quite incessant on trailing after me and insistent that we speak. Though I do find ways to avoid doing so, by either mentioning you being present or by being near my friends." Nothing wrong with small white lies, especially if it will help in the long run.
