With Defense Against the Dark Arts out of the way and professor Quirrells suspicious behavior behind her, Maeve decided it was perfectly fine with some alone time. She loved her friends but she's been alone for so long that she needed a break from all the caring and love from people that weren't Loki. She wasn't used to all the positive attention without her needing to manipulate anyone.

She walked down the quiet halls towards the Slytherin common rooms, Loki wrapped securely around her arm. It was time to look through the package that was sent to her by Gringotts. Humming softly, she reached the door to the common rooms, she rolled her eyes as she remembered the password, honestly her snakes were such bigots.

"Purity." The door swung open and allowed her in. She walked into the freezing room, sighing in distaste. -Why was it so bloody cold!- She thought grumpily. She made her way up to her dorm room where she knew would be increasingly warmer than the whole bloody dungeon.

She placed Loki gently on his warming stone, he sighed in content which had her smiling. At least he was satisfied, she softly rubbed his small head before walking to her bed. The package wasn't all that big, but she could feel the magic pooling out of it,

Without out much hesitation she opened it, a small object was wrapped protectively with a soft cotton fabric. Which was strange enough, but now without much coverage the magic was more noticeable. It coiled around like a snake looking for it's prey.

Carefully, she unwrapped it. A gasp fell from parted lips. It was a beautiful large, oval locket made of heavy gold with a serpentine 'S' in green jewels. There was a note placed at the bottom of the box, she grabbed it and examined it's written contents.

Lady Potter,
As stated during your inheritance test, you are heiress to Slytherin and as this locket once belonged to Salazar Slytherin, it is in your right to own it. Be warn, it is very valuable as there is something connected to it that would aid you greatly on the path you choose. Take great care of it.
May your vaults overflow with gold,
Silvertooth and goblins.

She placed a pale hand upon her lips as she stared at the locket. This was going to help her? She could taste the darkness lingering in the magic, she would trust her goblin friends as they would never betray her. If they say it will help, then it must be very important.

Maeve clipped it on and gasped startled at the rush of power it gave to her. "Oh my. That was... incredible." She whispered in awe. She glanced at Loki with excitement in her eyes. "Loki! Look at my beautiful necklace!" She has never felt such childish glee before, a smile spread across her face so big it was nearly painful.

Loki merely hissed in amusement, he was glad his human was showing more emotion than in the past. At least he knew she wasn't a heartless robot. That would have been something truly terrifying.

"I must show the other!" She was practically jumping with anticipation. "Would you accompany me Loki?" Her serpent denied as he wanted to bask in the warm before he was forced to endure the cold once more. She giggled before giving him a small kiss on the head and rushing out.

This locket was physical proof that she was powerful, that she could change the world and take control. The goblins said this would help and by Merlin would she use it to the fullest potential. The common room had several older years but none of her friends, she inwardly groaned at having to search for them.

She ran out the room and wandered the hallways hoping to find her boys before she grew tired. Just as she turned the corner, she bumped into someone. "Oh, I'm so sorry, professor." She apologized as she saw Quirrell stumble slightly.

Quirrellmort nearly hissed as he felt the familiar ting of magic. He eyed the girl curiously, why did she feel of his magic? Then he saw the thin gold chain that hung around her pale neck. Could it be..?
