Chapter Twenty-Four ~ Arrested

We pulled away from the hug. Mom, where is Mi-Kyong? I want to say goodbye to her before they take me away" I said. "She's in the nursery" she says. I rush upstairs quickly but carefully. I opened the door to the nursery, and I saw her with one of the house keepers playing with her toys. "Mi-Kyong" I called out to her, and she looked up and smiled with her cute little dimples that she has. I lifted her up and carried her downstairs in my arms. "Mi-Kyong, mommy has to go for a little bit and then I will be back, okay? Mommy will miss you very much" I said and started to cry, kissing her forehead. Jaehyun wipes my tears, I then remembered that I still have to tell Jaehyun about my pregnancy.

Before I could get a word out the cops busted through the door coming in. "Jung Nila?" they say, and I nodded. "You are under arrest for the attempted murder of Yerin Kim" they say showing me the arrest warrant and then putting in up and grabbing the hand cuffs out. I held Mi-Kyong in my arms and gave her a kiss goodbye. The cops then forcefully tried to remove Mi-Kyong from my hands. "HEY WHAT ARE YOU DOING? CAN'T YOU SEE I'M TRYING TO HAND MY DAUGHTER OFF TO HER FATHER!!" I yelled and quickly gave Mi-Kyong to Jaehyun. The cop came behind me and roughly grabbed my hands and put them in handcuffs. "HEY! That's a woman and my woman to be exact, you don't get to be rough with her" Jaehyun says to the cop.

"Take care of Mi-Kyong, okay? I love you" I said as tears went down my face. Jaehyun wiped them before giving me a kiss. "Don't worry, I'm going to get you out of there" he says. I nodded and the cop started to take me away. "Mama!" Mi-Kyong cries out for me. It breaks my heart for her to see this knowing I won't be there to calm her. We headed outside and saw a confused Mark.

Jaehyun tried to calm Mi-Kyong from crying. Mark comes in asking what was going on and why was Nila getting arrested. "Mina, please take Mi-Kyong while I discuss with Mark how to get Nila out" Jaehyun said, and Mina takes the baby leaving the room. "Nila got arrested for attempted murder" Jaehyun said, and Mark stays silent for a couple of seconds before speaking again.

"That's crazy, she is not the type. She may get angry, but she will never go to that extreme of killing somebody" Mark said. "Mark, I need you to call up all of my lawyers and tell them to get ready," Jaehyun said. "Okay, but what about you?" Mark asks, waiting for an answer. "I'm going to pay Yerin a visit" Jaehyun says and walks out the front door leaving.

Yerin looked at the news seeing Nila being escorted out of the house into the back of the police car. She smiled and turned the TV off, setting the remote on the coffee table and picking up her cup of water. Yerin then sees a figure out of her peripheral vision sitting. She turned to see it was her husband. "Yerin, what are you doing? Did you really kill our child?" he asked. She set down her glass, "No, I lied. That was someone I paid to act like me, and I also know a doctor who is a friend of mine to fake a miscarriage".

He sighed, "Why are you doing this? Let's leave and go far away from everyone huh? Let's start over and be a real couple" he says, grabbing her hand. Yerin rolled her eyes, "Don't you get it already. I don't want to be with you, I want a divorce". Yerin stood up and walked away from him leaving him alone in the room. Then she heard a knock on the door. Yerin opened the door and saw Jaehyun standing there pissed. She smirked, "Jaehyun come in won't you". She moved, stepping aside letting him in.

"Yerin, I know what you did, but why?" Jaehyun asked, turning around to face her. Yerin closed the door and turned around looking innocent. "I have no idea what you're talking about," she said and walked into the living room. Jaehyun followed her and saw Eunhyuk sitting on the sofa. "Hey Jaehyun, how are you doing?" Eunhyuk stands up greeting Jaehyun. Yerin rolled her eyes at the men and sat down on the sofa.

"Hey Eunhyuk," Jaehyun said and smiled. "I know why you're here and I feel terrible, but someone just can't seem to stop bothering your family and focus on their own before they lose it" Eunhyuk said emphasizing his words. "Alright, I'm going to let you talk" he says and Jaehyun stops him. "Oh no, I just came by to warm Yerin. When I get Nila out, she better be ready for hell" Jaehyun said. Eunhyuk and Jaehyun both watched Yerin's reaction but she just rolled her eyes and looked through her phone. Jaehyun turns around and leaves the house.

The door closes and Eunhyuk looks at Yerin, "You better stop before it gets too late" he said, and Yerin turns to face him. "Mind your business better yet, sign the divorce papers". Eunhyuk shakes his head and goes upstairs to the office space. He closes the door and takes a deep breath. 'Should I tell Jaehyun where and who to get the evidence from or not?' Eunhyuk thinks to himself. This decision was going to weigh on me all night.

Jaehyun made it back to the house and went into the dining room to Mark sitting down. Mark looks up at him before standing up. "How did it go?" he asked. "Oh, I know she did it plus the hints Eunhyuk put out. She denied it but all we have to do is figure out who and where the evidence is" Jaehyun said.
