Chapter Twenty-Seven ~ Trial

Today is the day where I should be getting out hopefully so I can see my baby and husband. My back is aching from the hard bed I've been sleeping on these past few days ever since I came here. I was waiting for my name to be called so I can go to the trial. "Jung Nila" they called, I stood up and they escorted me into the room and stopped at the door. The judge went first, "All rise" the man said and waited for the judge to sit down as a sign of respect.

"Bring the defendant it" the man said, and they brought me through the door, and I looked at the people sitting down looking for Jaehyun until I finally spotted him, and I felt reassured. They sat me down next to Haechan and I looked ahead towards the judge.

The trial had begun, and everything seemed like it was slowing time, they kept asking questions about where I was when such and such happened. I just wished it was over and I could go home and be free. "Let's bring Yerin to the stand now" the judge says, she stands up and looks my way smirking before facing back towards the front. I was taken back, and I felt anger. I really want to beat this bitch up, but I can't because I need to get out of here.

"Yerin the night you were pushed down the stairs and had a miscarriage, did you recognize Nila when you reached the bottom of the stairs?" her lawyer asked in front of the judge and the jury waited to answer. "Yes, she also wore a pair of black flats," she says. "Thank you, your honor, no further questions" her lawyer says and goes back to his seat. Haechan stands up and buttons his suit coat. "Yerin, you are lying, and you didn't see her at all because that wasn't even you who fell down the stairs that night. You paid someone to and framed her, even paid a doctor to fake you diagnose" Haechan says, putting her on the edge looking around in the courtroom.

"Objection your honor, what evidence do you have to prove this nonsense!" her lawyer says. "I'm glad you asked" Haechan says and grabs the hard drive holding it up in the air so everyone can see it.

"On this hard drive has everything that Yerin has planned so that she can frame Nila" Haechan then hands the hard drive to the judge, and he plugs it into the computer, and it pops up on the screen and shows hard evidence and text messages exchanged with everything she planned and spoke.

"With this new piece of evidence Nila you are free to go home and all paperwork on you will be erased from the system" the judge says. "As for Yerin Kim you are going to have five months of jail time and five months of probation and with that case closed" he says and slams the mallet down. The officer takes me back so I can retrieve my things and change my clothes. I quickly changed and waited so they could process things. It took about five minutes, but they did it. I walked through those doors and saw Jaehyun waiting for me.

I smiled and ran to him jumping into his arms hugging him. "I missed you so much" I cried out pulling him close in my arms. He chuckled and hugged me back, after what seemed like forever, I got down. I was about to ask him where Mi-Kyong was but before I could ask, I saw my mother coming towards us. "Oh Mi-Kyong, did you miss me?" I asked while grabbing her from my mother's arms. Mi-Kyong smiled, and you could see her little tooth that was growing, it was so adorable.

"Let's go get something to eat" Jaehyun said, and I nodded as we headed towards the car. We ate lunch together as a whole family once again. It felt great to be home. I looked around watching everyone smiling and laughing. It was a sight I could watch forever. I was brought out of that feeling when Mi-Kyong started laughing. I looked at her and laughed to myself. I turned towards Jaehyun to see him smiling at me showing his dimples. The same ones I could never get over.

After lunch we bid our farewells to Mark and Haechan as they left. My mom also has to leave for a flight on business. Jaehyun and I headed back to the house so he could finish work and I could shower. I walked inside the house missing the clean and fresh scent. I handed Mi-Kyong to the nanny and went upstairs to shower. The evening turned to night, Jaehyun went to shower, and I put Mi-Kyong to sleep. After ten minutes I left the nursery and went back to our bedroom to see Jaehyun laying on the bed checking his phone.

I brushed my teeth and got myself ready for bed. I folded back the covers on my side of the bed and got under them pulling them back onto me. Jaehyun put his phone on the charger and pulled me close to his as we cuddled. "How are you feeling babe?" Jaehyun asked while we were playing with each other's hands. "I feel fine, no wait I feel happy" I said and looked at his face. "I feel great to be home together with my family, especially with you. Jaehyun, I never want to part with you. Mi-Kyong will grow and won't stay a baby forever" I said.

Jaehyun kissed my lips and then my forehead. "Don't worry, I will never let that happen again" he said. "You promise?" I asked. Jaehyun smiled and took his pinky finger and wrapped it with mine. "I promise," he said. "I love you" I said, and he smiled, "I love you too and I love you little one" Jaehyun said and kissed my stomach talking to the baby. I laughed and waited for Jaehyun to lay next to me. I kissed him good night and he wrapped his arms around me as we fell asleep.
