I locked myself in my room as I joined the meeting on my phone. I noticed Daichi and Kiyoko already in the call, Kenma and Iwa joining a minute later.
"Let's begin," Kiyoko started, her hands moving some files around on her desk at the Commission, "We're starting another mission for the 4 of you. We need to investigate Takahashi without their suspicion. I've tried to get in contact with the agent placed there, but he isn't responding and I need you to figure out why but assume that we have a traitor on our hands. We managed to arrange a Nobleman get together at the Takahashi manner so you can gather information,"
"I'm guessing the Nobleman children will be going too, that's why we get to go?" Daichi asked.
"Yes, and that is one of the reasons why you are not to engage anyone there. Your only objective is to get information without anyone knowing, especially the agent,"
"Yes ma'am," We all responded. The new mission wasn't a surprise to me, but I was still excited to be on information retrieval again, and this time I would be undercover unlike here.
"What data are you looking for exactly? Just the status of the agent?" Kemna spoke up. He was splayed over his chair comfortably with his leg hanging off the armrest, any other advisor would have gotten at his ass, but Kiyoko didn't care nor seem to notice.
"Be on the lookout for any signs of traitorous behaviors, and keep an eye on the Nobleman for any weird activity, but I doubt you'll find it. Remember, you are going back undercover and no one can know you're agents anymore, make sure to remind your charges of that before arriving." She was looking mainly at me while she spoke the last part. I knew I was going to need to talk to Lord Bokuto about keeping my identity a secret. I didn't know how well he was going to listen to me, but it was imperative that he doesn't blow my cover.
"What happens if we do find a reason to believe the agent is traitorous?" Iwa asked, his face set in a scowl.
"Do not engage. With so many people there, and after just revealing our cards to Duke Bokuto and the other Duke kids I don't wish to uncover you just yet. Bring the information back and we'll take it from there," We all nodded our heads in understanding.
"When is the meet-up?" Daichi ran a hand down his face, shifting in his seat slightly.
"A few days, I want to give Akaashi time to talk to Lord Bokuto beforehand,"
"Thank you, I didn't want to have that discussion in the car ride over," I breathed out. While I was happy I would have more time to bring up the topic with Lord Bokuto, this also meant I needed to corner him somehow to have that talk with him in the first place. He's been avoiding me like the plague lately, and unless I can keep him in his study where there's only one door I won't be able to get a word in.
I felt anxiety bubble up inside me, my nerves twisting and pulling in my stomach. Osoroshi was starting again. I let out a stressed breath.
"Something's going to happen at the Takahashi house," I said in a low voice.
"Wait, it's starting again?" Daichi asked with wide eyes.
"We just got over the last one! What's this one rated?" Iwa cut in.
"3,"
"What is it about?" Kemna asked softly, and I took some time to run samples through my head. I found that the thought of Bokuto-sama made me more nervous than anything else.
"I don't know, but it involves Bokuto-san," I said tightly.
"Alright, just keep an eye on it, if it gets past 5 let me know," Kiyoko-san said, "I'll leave you to prepare," She left the call, the rest of us staring silently at each other.
