Chapter 1

Last will

Gulf parked his car like a pro. It was a dramatic entrance as he opened the car's door while wearing his expensive glasses to hide his sensitive eyes from the sun.

"It's nice to be back." He whispered while looking around.

"I'm glad that you're back." He heard a manly voice.

Tugging down his designer's eye glasses, he turned around to check who was the devil. He saw a man in his leather jacket, rugged pants, and leather boots, holding a cigarette while leaning against the wall. Gulf gulped and dramatically wiped his drool at the back of his mind. Whoa. He looked like a Gucci model. He thought.

Hold up. Since when did he compliment a man?

"Hey. It's been a while."

The man's voice came out very hoarse. Gulf knew him, but he could not recall his name.

He heard him chuckled, too. Even years went by, Gulf could still remember the other kid who was with him when they got adopted by an old man. They were from a good orphanage.

"Man, you became taller, huh? You're just a frail kid back then, but look at you now," He blew a smoke and a smirk played on his lips while scanning Gulf from head-to-foot.

Gulf felt the goosebumps on his body brought by the man's intense stares. And all of a sudden, something clicked on his mind. He just remembered the name of the man!

It was . . .

"Do you still remember my name? I'm Mew."

Right. His name was Mew. The tall and handsome kid, back in the orphanage. He was his playmate, or so he thought. It might sound childish but Mew was his savior.

"Of course. How have you been? ... And uhh," He trailed. "What brought you here?"

The man named Mew had seriousness etched on his face. He puffed on his cigarette before throwing it on the ground. Gulf panicked when Mew made his way toward him. He set out to remain on his composure.

It was giving him a different kind of feeling. He never felt nervous around anyone before. Until this man appeared.

"The attorney called me yesterday. Were you also contacted by him?"

He just frozed. He did not understand what the other man was saying at first because his eyes were fixed at the latter's protruding red lips, then slowly to the man's creased eyebrows and expressive eyes-eyeing him darkly. He could even smell the minty and cigarette mixed to the man's breath.

Mew was too close.

On his end, it was so hard to ignore.

Gulf snapped back to reality and shook his head while uttering some curses. What the hell was that?

"Gulf?" Mew called his attention, waving his hand in front of him.

He could only clear his throat and gave Mew a small smile.

"Y-Yeah. Attorney Brethum told me to come over. But he didn't mention about you though..."

Mew chuckled. He lazily stood in front of the troubled Gulf.

"How long we've been away from each other? Nine long years?"

Gulf nodded. It was when the old man who adopted them passed away. They were separated after that for some reasons.

He would not want to dwell with it now. It was all in the past.

Mew was about to talk again when a loud beep put an end to their conversation. They both turned their gazes to the new arrived car. The old Attorney Brethum welcomed them with a warm smile.

"Both of you, gentlemen! Come to my office."

Gulf followed the attorney's order. He noticed that Mew was few meters behind him. Meanwhile, Mew could not figure it out. The only thing he could notice that moment was Gulf's ass in front of his eyes.

"Damn..." Mew muttered under his breath.

On the other side, Gulf felt so uneasy. He could feel the penetrating stares behind him. He shook his head and tried to focus his attention to the busy people around.

They finally reached Attorney Brethum's office. The old man sat on his swivel chair while the two men were still standing in front of him. They looked like some confused kids inside a principal office.

"Have a sit, gentlemen." He gestured them to the empty seat.

A defeaning silence came along before the old Attorney spoke.

"I called for your attention because of Ferdinand's last will."

They both stared at the Attorney, surprised. Gulf never expected that the old man who was a father figure to them left a last will. But no wonder, he was filthy rich.

"Why bother telling this thing to us now? Why not nine years ago?" Mew asked doubtedly.

The attorney cleared his throat. He seemed nervous over something. Gulf knew that there was something wrong.

"You were only kids back then, and I just literally found about this months ago from the archives of his only apprentice, Colorado. Your father never informed me about this, only Colorado who knew because he was charged for your father's richness before. I found this legal letter in the ancestral house together with his other documents. "

"Maybe because Papà did not trust you enough?" Mew squinted his eyes.

He could not get himself to believe on what the Attorney was blabbering. While Gulf was just sitting quietly. He did not know what to say.

The old man just shrugged.

"What's on the documents? Is it necessary for us to know? We all know that we're just his adopted sons. Mew and I are not even carrying his name." Gulf stated.

That was right. The old man legally adopted them but they were not carrying his name. They still had the same name given by the nuns from the orphanage.

"But it was stated in the documents that the two of you will get to receive all his fortunes after he died."

The defeaning silence once again filled the room.

"Holy shit!" Gulf uttered.

He was thinking that he would become so, so rich. Mew remained silent with his head bowed.

Gulf was anxious. "... so when will be the money transfer-

The old Attorney purposedly cut him off.

"But before you get all of his possesions, it has stated in this last will that the two of you shall get married first."

They all went silent for a minute, but the shock on their faces were palpable.

"THE TWO OF US SHOULD GET MARRIED?!"

Gulf almost collapsed at the thought.
