It felt like a long dream.. He fought the emptiness that caged him since he could remember. He felt life again.
As he slowly opened his blurry eyes, he heard a beeping sound and saw the familiar white ceiling of the room. A soft moan escaped his lips and felt himself breathing through the oxygen mask. He felt his body stiffened.
"G-Gulf? Oh god, Gulf!"
He heard the slam of the door and the loud steps inside the room. Familiar people surrounded him. He could still remember the first time he got hospitalized because of fatigue. And now he was lying in the bed again. A lone tear escaped in the corner of his eye as he realized that he's still alive.
"He's awake, thanks god! How's he, Dr. Thompson?" a worried and almost hysterical voice echoed inside the room.
Flashes of memories flooded his mind as he heard her voice. He wanted to see her close, to ask her if she was alright. It was a loud bang that he could vividly remember her blood gushing from her head. He was hopeless. He thought that it would be the end of them.
"Consider himself lucky that he had overcome the vegetative state. His vitals are now normal. All he need is to rest for a while for his recovery."
"Gulf?" He was welcomed by her worried face. It felt like forever since he saw her.
"S-Sirene.."
He saw how her tears pooled in the corner of her eyes. She looked so tired.
"Oh my god.. " She was trying to supress her sobs while covering her mouth using the back of her hand.
"D-Don't cry.. Look, I'm still alive. Bad bitch don't easily die, h-huh?" He coughed a little while giving her a small smirk.
She chuckled in the midst of tears.
"That's Stella's line."
Stella... Hearing her name reminded him of one person. Someone whom he expected to be there when he woke up... but he was nowhere to be found.
"Sire... How many days I slept?" He asked her in a serious manner.
He hated how she stared at him with pity in her eyes. It was all his fault. Everything...
"I'm so sorry, Gulf. It's been two years..."
He acted like he didn't hear what she said. With his weak state, he tried to lift his own body.
"What the hell- Stop it! You're still weak!"
She gently pushed him back on the bed.
Gulf glanced at her with tears on his face.
"Sire, I'm sorry.. you were hurt because of the damn revenge!" He hugged her tight as he could.
Sirene held his fragile back. Her heart was achingly racing in so much emotions. She felt blue holding him like that. She was hurting. Felt like life fucked her up because she fell for him too, hopelessly.
"It was all fine. I was willing to follow you in hell because... Y-You're my dearest friend. Mew and Stella knows that."
"Sire—" He looked at her guiltily.
"Hush! I told you, I'm moving on. Just give me few more years."
She wiped her tears off her face and gently face him. She tried her hardest to give him a big smile.
"He stayed by your side for the past years.. He just went back to the Philippines to set things right once and for all."
"What? R-Really?"
"Did you really think that he's capable of leaving you?"
He blushed profusely while biting his lower lip.
