~Mara's P.O.V.~
I stand there staring at Cindy's back, too horrified to move.
On Cindy's back there were burns, as if someone lit her back on fire. There were scratch marks on her back, as if the person tried to claw her to death. They looked like the were recent. How could she be alive?
"It's not healing and it's been a week." She says sobbing.
"Oh god. Oh god. Oh god. I can help. I can heal it." I frantically run towards her. I place my hand her back but she winced so I quickly retracted it.
"Okay, just stay still." I let my hand hover over her back and I heal her. I watch in awe as the burns and scratches faded away, as if they weren't there before but not completely. There were small scars still left on her back.
When I finished, I took a step back to give her space. She slowly run her fingers across her back then drops her shirt. She turns around, looking at me wide eyed.
"How did you.......You're a......Wow." She says as if trying to wrap her mind around this discovery. She stays silent for a while so I speak.
"Tell me every that happened."
"Okay." She takes a seat on her bed and pat the empty space that was beside her. I awkwardly shuffle over to her bed and sit down slowly.
"It was the day when you and I had the little encounter in the locker room."
~Cindy's P.O.V~ (The attack)
The cool afternoon air hit my almost exposed legs. I watch as the tree dance to the beat off the wind. I decided on walking home today. The pack house is just 10 minutes away so it'll be quick. What Mara did to me a couple minutes ago was unbelievable. She knocked me off my feet without moving. Could she be a-
"What have we got here?" A sinister sounding voice says. I turn to see who it was.
Reddish brown hair.......Dark brown eyes.......Tall......Thin but not too thin....A confident smirk plastered on her face.
"Can I help you with something?" I ask not trying to hide my harshness.
"Yes you can actually. Do you know a girl named Mara. Dark brown hair.....Dark brown eyes....Kind of a pointed nose." She describes.
Mara?
"Yes I do we go to school together. May I ask what this is about?" I eyed her suspiciously.
"Can you tell me where she is?" She says completely ignoring my question. I'm getting this bad vibe for her and if she asking for Mara's address it means it's nothing good.
I may be a bitch, but I'm not that much of a bitch. Even though she had just kicked my ass into next week, I don't want to be the cause of any trouble. Or any missing person's report.
"I don't know where she is." I turn on my heel to walk away. I froze. What the....?
My body suddenly stops. It came to a complete halt. None of my limbs were responding to commands to move. I was completely paralyzed. Then my body jerks back with such force, that it made everything a blur until my back collides into what I assume is a tree. I groan in pain. My vision was still blur, so when I saw a silhouette approaching me, my body tenses. But I still couldn't move.
"You are a terrible liar." She chuckles.
"Really I thought it was good." I reply. She comes a mere few feet closer. She was like 2 feet away from me. I could see into her eyes and all I could see was pure darkness.
"So I'll ask again where is she?" She asks. She look annoyed.
"I don't know." I put emphasis on each word. She smirks. What the-
She does a motion with her left hand. I didn't get to see what she did because I was too busy flying across the air. I land on my stomach and let out a painful groan.
"I'll ask you once more because you're wasting my time. Where is she?" She asks, hovering over me with her mouth next my ear.
"Told you. I do-" I let out a ear piercing scream. What she hell is she doing!? Another scream escapes my lips as the burning feeling hits my back again.
"Answer me truthfully!" She yells.
"I don't know-" I scream once more but this time it wasn't a burning feeling. It was the feeling of my flesh being ripped off.
"Tell me!" She screams as she continues her assault. She does it alternately. She would burn me then scratch me, screaming at me.
A couple of seconds later, the sound of heavy paws hitting the ground causes my body to be able to move of my own free will. I wince as I got up.
She's gone. Oh thank god.
Not knowing how to explain this situation, I didn't the first thing that popped up into my mind. I shifted and ran to the pack house. I ran through the house in wolf form until I reached my room then I shifted back. I expected the burns and scratches to be healed or to be healing but they were not. Looking at myself in the full length mirror, I grimace.
The bruises from being tossed around has healed, but my burnt back has not.
~Mara's P.O.V~
As she finished, I watch as her bottom lip quiver and her eyes become watery.
This one is all on me.
