In case anyone is wondering, my book will be about 35-40 chapters. This far in the book, it's hard to find good conflicts to write, so if I start to bore anyone, my bad...

Chapter 30
Julia

I'm not a morning person, but Joe still managed to make me laugh by singing along to pop songs on the way to the beach.

He claims he can sing. I beg him not to.

It wasn't a very long ride to the beach, but with Joe, it could have been longer and I wouldn't care anyway. We pulled into the parking lot and got out of the car. Joe came around and opened my for for me.

"Why thank you sir," I said playing.

"The pleasure is all mine madam."

We laughed at our weird romantic jokes and got our things out of the car.

I took in the smell of the salty ocean, the warm breeze brushing against my skin, and the sound of the waves crashing against the shore. I put my sunglasses on top of my head since I didn't need them at the moment. I looked over at Joe and saw that he had done the same thing with his sunglasses. He grabbed my hand and we began our stroll along the beach.

"So Joe," I began, " if your real father is George, wouldn't you take his last name of Bailly?"

He thought it through looking uncertain. "That's a good question."

"Hmm. Joseph Bailly. I like it."

"Actually it's Joseph William Bailly."

"William? Is that your middle name?"

"Yeah." He paused momentarily before saying something else. "Come to think about it, I don't know your middle name jewels. Actually, I don't remember your last name either."

"I don't think I've ever mentioned them. My middle name is May and my last name is Collins."

"Julia May Collins," he repeated, "I like that name. My father- my other one? Gah! The one that's dead, hid name was Robert Phillips."

"Joseph William Phillips," I said aloud.

I should have remembered his father's name. It was on one of the TVs of that store when Joe first found out that Robert died.

He stopped at a random spot along the beach and we sat down. I fiddled with my necklace while we sat in silence. Joe broke the silence as we started seeing the sun peek over the horizon. "There it is," he said pointing in the sun's direction.

Amazement filled my voice. "It's beautiful," I smiled.

"Yes you are," he said. He looked over at me. I was giving him a look that said really? "Oh! You meant the sunrise!" He laughed, obviously amused by himself although I couldn't help but blush. "Both are beyond beautiful."

My face was on fire. I'm lucky it was still somewhat dark outside because he would have seen my tomato-red face.

"There it is," he said looking at the horizon.

I followed his gaze to where the sun was rising over the waves. It was truly beautiful. The bright yellow sun slowly rising over the ocean, just peeking through the clouds. Joe put his arm around my shoulders. I leaned against his (surprisingly firm) chest. I could stay here forever. With him.

"Julia," he said breaking the silence.

"Yeah?"

"Can I ask you something?"

I was getting nervous now. "Of course you can."

"When were finished with college," he trailed off for a second so I spoke up.

"Yeah?" I said, bringing him back to earth.

"When we're finished with college," I kept nodding my head as he spoke, "we should get our own place, don't you think?"

I stared confused but regained myself quickly. "Appositely! That would be so cool, just the two of us." He cleared his throat like he does when he's nervous. "Joe? Are you alright."

"Uh, yeah! I just..." He looked towards the horizon and took a deep breath. He looked back at me. "Julia," he said, "when were done with college and everything, we could get a place together for just the two of us. If we're planning on staying together or whole lives..." He trailed off and got down on one knee. At that moment I forgot how to breathe. I brought my hand to my mouth and gasped while tears threatened to escape my eyes.

"Will you marry me?"
