You get to find out what Shelby's plan is. Will it work?
Chapter 21
❤Joe❤
Shelby seemed a little too excited about her plan.
It wasn't a bad plan. In fact it might work. At least I hope it would. Shelby's plan was to have a fundraiser to raise money for Julia's hospital bills. $267,279 is a lot of money. We probably won't raise that much money, but at least we'll raise some.
My dad said we could use the hotel lobby for space, but we can't drive customers away. We're going to have a bake sale and chef said I could use his kitchen. My dad is also going to order some new jewelry from the jewelry store for people to bid on. He's also going to rent out a few new rooms that he just finished. It is a good idea, but again, I just hope it works.
While everyone was busy, I took the time to call Tony and see how him and Julia were doing in the hospital.
"Hey Joe. How's it going at the hotel?"
"Everything's good. How Julia?"
"Well the guard went on lunch break and Julia wanted some real food, so I'm in the hospital's cafeteria. The food here doesn't look any better though."
"Wait!" I said anxiously, "You left her alone in here room?"
"Yeah, but she asked me to get her some real food so I came to the cafeteria. Why?"
"Because her father is in the same hospital. He's only a few floors away from her."
"Joe! It's okay. I'm about to get her food and I'll be back."
"Tony, you have to go back! Her father is THERE! He's at that hospital WITH her!"
I am freaking out. Tony is not in the room with Julia, her father is in the same building, and the security guard is gone.
"Okay, okay! I'm heading back now."
"I'm coming back to see her. I'll pick some food up from somewhere on my way there."
"Okay. Oh, and Joe?"
"Yeah?"
"I'm really sorry. I...I didn't think."
"Your fine. Just make sure Julia is alright," I sighed.
"I'm on my way."
I hung up the phone just as my dad came up behind me.
"Joe! Theirs someone I want you to meet. She's-"
I cut him off because I was in a hurry. "Dad I gotta go. Maybe later."
"Oh, alright then. Is everything okay?"
I turned to look at him before I left. "I hope so." I told him. I scanned the room for Max because I still can't drive. "Max!" I yelled over the crowd of people. He looked over at me and I motioned him to follow me.
"Is everything alright?" he asked while starting his car.
"I don't know yet. I have to go back to the hospital and check on Julia."
"Oh,okay. To the hospital then?"
"No. We have to stop and pick some food up for her."
"Got it!" he said. He drove off so fast that the tires screamed and everything around us blurred.
We pulled into a fast food restaurant and got Julia a salad with vinegarett dressing (her favorite). We went through the drive thru, so we paid and pulled out of the parking lot.
By the time we got to the hospital, we were almost running to get to Julia. When we reached her room Tony was standing beside the door, and the was no body guard.
"The door had been locked for about two minutes." Tony told me.
"How do you know?" I asked trying open the door.
"I asked a nurse" he said pointing to a desk across the hall.
"Well how long have you been out here?" I asked him.
"I've been out here for about two minutes. The nurse said she closed the door right before I got back. She didn't see anyone else go inside though."
"So, she's in there alone?" I asked as Tony shook his head to confirm, "Then why is the door locked? Or closed at all?"
I knocked on the door again. No answer.
"Julia!" I said, not wanting to yell. Nothing.
"Julia!" I said a bit louder. Still nothing.
I knocked on the door, louder than before.
"Maybe we should just wait." Tony looked at me concerned.
"Okay." I said awkwardly, "But just for a few minutes."
Just as I said it, there was a click and, the door knob turned. We all stepped back. We all stared in bewilderment, preparing ourselves for what we may see. Then the door swung open.
Who do you think is in the room? Why? Vote and comment!
