I think I might give up on the cast list for now. I'll make one another time.
Chapter 18
❤Joe❤
"Come on, we need to get there as quick as possible.
Julia's life depends on it" I said not taking my eyes off of the road in front of me.
"I can only drive so fast, Joe" Max replied."If you want to live through the car ride, you'll let me drive"
"Alright fine. So where's Tony?" I asked my dad.
"He's watching over the hotel" he answered me.
I had gotten a little worried about him ever since the whole kidnapping thing. I know it had to be scary for him. He had snuck out of the apartment to get help in case we didn't make it out. Lucky we did make it out, but I think the whole thing spooked him.
We arrived at the police station and I got out quickly. I was in the building before any of the others.
"Can I help you?" a lady asked the three of us as we walked in.
"Yes" I said "We need to speak to a person who was recently arrested. She knows something we need to know, and an important person's life depends on it"
"Do you have an appointment to talk to this person?"
Was she being serious? Julia's life depends on her mother and this lady won't let us talk to her without an appointment.
"Listen..." I started to say, but Mr.Baily cut me off.
"Someone's life depends on us talking to someone in this jail, please, miss, let us talk to her"
"I'll go talk to the chief" she said sounding a bit sorry.
"Thank you." He turned to me after she left and just looked at me with his arms crossed. "Was that so hard?"
"I'm sorry" I mumbled, "I'm just frustrated"
"It's okay. I can't imagine how you must feel"
"Here she comes" I said.
"Follow me please" she said gesturing towards a door to the left of us.
We followed the lady through the door and when we were inside I couldn't believe what I saw. There were people sitting at small tables across from other people in orange uniforms, and in every corner of the room was a police officer standing guard, watching over the prisoners and their visitors. I saw one woman start to cry as she reached to touch a younger boys hand. But as she did one of the police officers yelled at her. "No touching" he said, "But he's my son! I love him! He doesn't belong here!" She screamed at him through tears.
As she reached out to grab her son's hand two police officers pulled the boy away and took him through another door across the room. Two more officers then grabbed the woman and carried her out of the room through the same doors we came in. We moved out of the way to avoid her flailing arms and legs and sorrowful screams.
"Wait here please" the lady that brought us here said.
A few moments passed and then she came back with a woman wearing orange following close behind her. I noticed almost immediately that it was Julia's mother.
"You have five minutes" she told us as she walked towards the door but didn't go out.
"You!" I said to her with rage in my voice, "Your the reason Julia is in the hospital"
She looked almost heart broken.
"Julia is in the hospital?" she asked in such a sorrowful voice I almost believed she really did care.
"Don't act so surprised" I said in a smart angry tone.
"I'm sorry, I didn't know" she said frowning.
"No, but I'm sure you were expecting it though. Now tell us what you drugged her with"
I saw tears beginning to gather in her eyes. "I... I don't know... I'm sorry."
I got close to her. Almost in her face, I asked her again.
"I'm not asking you again. What's inside of her. Tell me! " I said getting more furious.
"I... I can't! I can't!" she said raising her voice.
"Why not?" I asked staring into her terrified brown eyes.
"I don't remember. He gave it to me and told me to give it to her."
"Where did he get it?"
"I don't know. I would say ask him yourself, but that's not possible because he's dead"
Her terror was turning into anger. Rage began to fill her eyes.
After she said this, the lady that had escorted us into the room, escorted my dad out. I'll ask him about that later.
"Come on! Think! You have to remember something"
I searched her eyes trying to tell weather or not she was lying.
"I said I don't know what it was. He gave it to me and told me to put it in her food. I didn't want to hurt her, but if I didn't he said he would hurt me."
Her expression became void of emotion. I almost staggered backwards.
"You mean to tell me that you would risk your daughters life to save yours?"
She continued to just stare at me.
"You are an evil, ruthless, selfish b-"
"Time's up" the police officer cut me off before I could finish my sentence.
I stared into her eyes feeling disgusted. I turned to leave the room but before I walked out of the room I turned around to look at her one last time.
An officer had come to take her back to her cell, but she was starting at me. She tilted her head and smiled, waving at me in the most sarcastic way she could.
She blew me a kiss and then said "Bye, i hope you find what your looking for."
The office put her in hand cuffs and escorted her out of the room. I had never seen such a conniving smile. I turned to walk out and slammed the door behind me, hoping she could sense my anger.
Joe is a little protective. Do you think it's too much? Vote and comment!
