Chef Will told me I did a great job today, and since it wasn't busy I could leave early.

If they need me I will come back around dinner time. I headed back to the suit. I was surprised when I got there though. Shelby and Max were pacing back and forth in front of the door.

Shelby saw me walking and ran towards me. She looked worried and scared. She tried talking to me but I didn't get what she had said.

This time Max spoke, "Shelby told me that Julia was off work today..."

"Yeah, and? What's wrong? Where is she?" I started to sound panicked now.

"Shelby was off too so she called Julia and asked her if she wanted to come over. Julia said she would. She walked to Shelby's apartment but got lost on the way and called Shelby on a pay phone. She said Julia sounded kind of scared, so she told her to tell her where she was. She said she was on Clarkson Road. Shelby told Julia she would come by the to pick her up. When she got there Julia was gone."

I stared in disbelief at what he was telling me. Shelby started to speak again.

"I waited there for an hour and even drove around some and saw nothing. I called Max and told him to meet me here. When nobody answered the door I knew she wasn't there. We waited a few more minutes to see if anyone would show up, we were about to come get you. Then we saw you come around the corner. We don't know if she's inside or somewhere else."

I quickly unlocked the door and ran inside calling her name, waiting for an answer.

"Julia!" No answer.

We all started looking around for Julia. We didn't see her.

"Should we call the police?" Shelby asked staring to worry more now.

"Not yet." I told them. I had one more idea of where she could be.

"Shelby, what road did she say she was on?"

"Clarkson Road" she looked at me with curiosity, "Why?"

"Grab your keys, let's go." I said in a hurry.

"What are we doing?" asked Max.

"Trying to figure out where where Julia went."

I was walking through the lobby when Mr.Baily stopped me.

"Where are you going Joseph? What's wrong?"

"Julia's missing. We're going to find her."

I really had a while lot going on right now. First my parents, then my dad dying, then my dog dying, now Julia, the love if my life is missing.

"Wait!" Mr.Bailey called after me, "I need to tell you something before you go."

"Go ahead, I'll meet you there." I told Shelby and Max.

"Let's go into my office" Mr.Baily said, "your going to want to sit down for this."

"Make it quick I have to find Julia."

We went to his office and I sat in the chair across from his desk.

"I heard that your father died recently," be began, " I'm sorry for your loss."

"If he was even my dad. Just get in with it."

"I've spoken to your mother-"

I didn't let him finish. "I don't care about my mother. She lied to me. She lied to my so called father. She-"

This time he didn't let me finish. "I wasn't done." He had anger but patience in his voice. "I used to love your mother. In college. I was about twenty years old, she was about nineteen. I wasn't a wealthy kid. I'm fact I was broke. I had parents that didn't care about me. They paid for my college so they wouldn't have to see me again. Your mother was there for me though. However she didn't know I had no money, I guess she hadn't thought to ask. She got pregnant at twenty years old thanks to me, but we weren't together then. She had left me because I had no money. She had just gotten married to your father when she found out. I didn't know she was pregnant. I just found out right about after you and Julia showed up."

"What does all this mean? Why do I care?" I was starting to get upset because he was taking time away from finding Julia. But at the same time he was sounding very curious. I think I know where this is going.

"Joseph. Your mom and I talked. I wasn't happy about it after all these years, but, we think I'm your biological father."

I couldn't believe what I was hearing. But he wasn't done yet.

"If I had known at the time I would have loved you like my own then. But your mother lied to your father. Well your other father, I mean... well you know what I mean. She lied. She kept it all to herself. She told him you were his."

"So your my father, huh... Is that why you've been so nice to us?"

He stated silent but nodded his head no.

"I hired you both before I knew, I swear it, but yes I have been nice to you. If you found out you had a son, and you just hired him as an employee, wouldn't you be nice. I am willing to try my best to be your father. Will you give me that chance?"

I was speechless. He had a point though. It wasn't his fault he didn't know I was his.

"Okay" Is all I said.

"Thank you." he said.

"We can talk more later. Right now I have a problem."

"Why? What's wrong?"

"Julia is missing." I said looking him in the eye.

I turned to leave but before I could get out the door he stopped me.

"Wait. These might help." He tossed me keys to a car. "I'll call someone to pull it around for you. I'll also call the cops."

"Thank you. This means a lot." After that I was gone. I ran as fast as I could out the front doors. As I came out, someone had pulled a black 2013 corvette around to the front of the hotel.

He said "Hey, my name's Tony, I'm twenty three, and I'm here to take ya where you need to go. My old man told me you were looking for your girlfriend. Hop in."

"Your old man?" I asked a little confused.

"Yeah man. That's my dad."

That meant he was my step brother. Yeah, you left a little something out when we were takling dad.

"That's my dad" I said probably sounding dumb.

"Ah... " he said "You must be Joesph. How you doing?"

"It's Joe, and I'll be better when we find Julia." I wasn't trying to sound rood, but I was in the car ready to go and I have wasted enough time already. "We're going to 'Clarkson Road'."

"Julia. That's your lady?"

"Yeah. I guess so. Let's go."

We drove off and on our way, I had a lot to think about. So much has happened in the last hour.
