In case your wondering, because I don't think I really mention it, the surgery was a success. Their both feeling exquisite... Kind of.
Chapter 25
❤Julia❤
Shelby told us that we slept for hours after surgery.
She told us about her idea going on at the hotel. She said that the jewelry auction raised $235,300. They sold 15 necklaces all for around $10,000 ($150,000); 10 bracelets for around $5,000 ($50,000); and 3 sets of rings ($15,000). Altogether from the jewelry they have $215,000. From the newly finished hotel rooms, they raised $3,000 for each room (four rooms, so that's $12,000)(altogether that's $227,000). Finally, from the bake sales they raised $8,300. We still need $31,979.
She went on and on about how well everything was going.
"Hey jewels!" Joe called from the bed beside me.
"Yeah?" I said turning towards him.
"Guess what?" he said smiling. It only made me smile back at him.
"What?" I answered.
"Your stuck with me now. You know why?" He asked looking over at me.
"Why is that?" I asked, smiling broadly.
"We're a part of each other now." My cheeks started hurting from smiling so wide.
"Well," I said, "to be fair, I have your liver-"
"Part of it-" he corrected me.
"Yes, part of it," I continued, "but what do you have that's mine?" I asked teasingly.
"Well, let's see," he began, "Don't I have your trust? Your love?"
"Joe," I began, "You know that I trust you and I love you with all of my heart."
He smirked and said "I know, and I trust and love you too."
"You guys are so lovey-dovey!" Shelby interrupted, grimacing at our conversation.
Joe and I began laughing and soon after Shelby started laughing with us. Max walked in looking confused, but he didn't say anything. He handed Shelby a coffee that he was holding and kissed her on the cheek before taking the seat next to her. They started talking silently while Joe and I sat in silence.
Joe decided to go back to sleep. I was so tired of sleeping so much, so I grabbed my notebook that Shelby brought earlier, and doodled. I eventually got bored of doodling and started writing. I figured that since I like writing, why not write about myself. My life has been interesting lately. I started with the day I ran away, and after that I just kept writing about what happened next.
I didn't notice when Tony walked into the room. Everyone in the room had fallen asleep, so Tony came and sat next to me.
"Hey," he said quietly, cautious not to wake anyone, "How's everyone holding up?"
"Well, everyone is sleeping right now, but I think I've done plenty of that, so I'm keeping myself occupied." He looked between me and my notebook.
"What are you doing to occupy yourself?" He asked, still looking at my notebook with a smirk.
I looked down at my notebook and held it tighter to my chest. "It's nothing. I'm just..."
"What is it?" His face began to grow with concern.
"It's a notebook... Duh." I said in a sarcastic tone. He didn't buy it. He just rolled his breathtaking blue eyes and looked at me discontently.
"What's in the notebook?" He asked smirking as if I was joking with him.
Darn it! Well that didn't work.
"Well?" he asked impatiently but still amusingly.
"I was just writing." I told him innocently.
"Hmmm... interesting." He said curiously. "So...what are you writing?" He asked. His gaze was intense. I don't want him to know what I'm writing. Most of it was about Joe.
"That's for me to know, and for you not to know." That all I said. He laughed at me. I couldn't hold back my laughing for long either, but I also couldn't laugh for long before my side began hurting.
"Are you okay?" His smile was gone and he looked serious.
"For someone who just got half of your brother's liver? I'm great!" That made him smile.
Joe began to wake up. Tony turned to talk to him for a while.
"What's up, Joe?" he asked amusingly.
"Nothing. How is everything?" They got deep into conversation. They talked about things at the hotel, Tony talked about his mom so Joe would know about her, and when Joe asked if Tony was an only child, Tony said no. Apparently Tony has a little sister about seven years old. You kind of left that out when we were talking the other day, Tony. His name is Isabella. His mom stays home with Isabella while his dad works at the hotel.
Joe was surprised to hear that he had a little sister.
Apparently Joe's mom isn't the only busy one around here.
Joe has three half siblings; Tony, Isabella, and the child his mother is carrying. This all must be allot for Joe to take in.
"Wow!" Joe said in amazement, "I can't wait to meet everyone."
"You and Julia both get to meet my mom and my... our sister." They both looked over at me.
I was shocked. They are talking about their family, and I'm not family. I'm just joes girlfriend.
"I can't wait!" I managed to through both of their intense stares.
Tony went back to talking to Joe while Joe continued to stare at me with his alluring chocolate brown eyes.
"Joe?... Joe!" Tony snapped his finger to get his attention.
"I'm listening! I'm listening!" He looked towards Tony as he said the last word.
"You are?" Tony asked him slightly smiling.
"Uh huh!" Joe snapped back playfully.
"Really?"
"Yeah"
"What did I say then?" Tony was looking at him expectantly.
"You said... Something about... Your... job?" Joe guessed wrong. Tony laughed at him for guessing wrong.
Joe gave Tony a playful shove. He winced due to the pain in his side, but kept smiling.
"So, what did you say anyway?" Joe asked starting to laugh.
Tony stopped laughing for a second to answer. "Really?" Tony asked, but went back to laughing. I laughed at they're brotherly behavior.
Even though they have both experienced difficult changes, and are finding out new things about each other, they don't seem to find it hard to get along like brothers.
Looks like they are getting along well. Just like brothers should, I guess. I only have a sister, but I guess it's still siblings... Vote and comment please!
