Chapter fourteen: Cheeky Kiss

I walked in the restaurant that Jared texted me the place. It looked very fancy on the outside and the inside didn't disappoint it. I scanned my surroundings and found him sitting patiently in his chair by the table near the window. His back was facing me, so he still didn't notice me.

I walked up from behind him and suddenly covered his eyes with my hands.

"Guess who?" I said.

"Hmmm...I wonder..." he played along. "I'm guessing she's very pretty. The sound of her voice sounds like an angel." he smiled. If only I wasn't covering his eyes right now he would see how red my face is at this moment.

When I finally cooled down. I brought my hands back. He adjusted his eyes for awhile before his gaze zeroed on me.

"Hey," I greeted while sitting down on the opposite side of his.

"Glad you made it." He beamed.

"Wouldn't miss it." I replied.

Seconds later the waitress arrived with the menus. I just ordered a steak while he ordered something that sounds complicated. I didn't even bother asking what it is.

Throughout lunch, we just talked and talked. We were also laughing most of the time since his jokes are hilarious. Generally, I had a great lunch with him. After lunch, he drove me back to the building.

"Thanks for today, I had a good time."

"Don't sweat it, I had a good time too." He said cheerfully.

I gave him a kiss on the cheek and went running back inside the building before he could say anything. Embarrassed of what I just did. Maybe it was just on the cheek but still. It was a kiss! Okay maybe I'm overreacting but...I can't help it.

I finally made it into Seth's office after a couple of minutes and was I shocked of what I just saw!

A few feet standing away from me is Seth and a woman. She has light blonde hair, olive skin, has curves in the right places. I couldn't actually make out her eyes since she has her side on me. In short, she's beautiful.

They were standing very close at each other that if I didn't interrupt then they might've kissed. Seeing them that close gave me a weird feeling in the pit of my stomach.

When they noticed I was here they pulled away from each other. Then silence filled the room. Boy was it awkward.

Seth cleared his thoughts that made the blonde bimbo turn away from the glare she was giving me the whole time I was here which was really making me uncomfortable. I'm guessing she doesn't like me very much. Or at all.

Finally Seth spoke up. "Daniela, I didn't think you'd be back this early." Me early? For the record I'm thirty minutes late. I'm anything but early.

"Early? For the record, I'm kinda late if you haven't noticed..." You probably didn't. You were too busy with blonde bimbo...

"Oh right...umm...Daniela, would you come out for a minute. Kath and I has something to discuss." Discuss something or make out? Wait! Why do I care?!

I nodded not arguing any further. So her name is Kath...

Jared's POV

I just stood there like a statue when Daniela just kissed me on the cheek. I shouldn't be making a big deal about this but I am. I just watched her run into the building until I can no longer see her. I can't do or say anything. My body can't move a muscle. I can't even blink. She might just casted a spell on me to react like this.

When I finally came back to my senses, I blinked and blinked and blinked. Making sure that just happened. Wow, I'm such a girl. I mean I'm overreacting already when she only kissed me on the cheek.

Wait! This is wrong. I wouldn't. I couldn't. And I shouldn't! I cant be feeling like this. The past has been enough. Then guilt coursed through me like mad.

I climbed in my car and drove back to the park. The park that held many memories...
