Chapter ten: Surprise

I sat up to my desk and walked to Sir Seth's office. I breathed deeply before knocking on his door.

*Knock*

*Knock*

"Come in" his voice deep and cold.

I opened the door to his office and went in. Then I closed the door slowly like it was fragile. As usual he was busy on his laptop to even acknowledge my presence.

"Umm sir, at 8:00 am you have meeting with the partners, at12:00 pm, lunch with your mother and then at 1:30 pm another meeting with the dealers and lastly at 4:00 a friend of yours is coming to meet you."

"Is that all?" This time he looked up to me.

"Y-yes sir." I stuttered.

"You can go now."  After that words left his mouth, he turned his attention on his laptop again.

I rushed out the door. Careful not to be so obvious that I'm doing it. Again I sighed deeply when I'm out.

The day past by quickly and before I know it it's already 4 in the afternoon.

"Daniela a friend of Sir Seth is here to see him."

"Oh okay. Let him come up here." I ordered.

In a matter of minutes the elevator dinged and I knew that his friend was already here so I rushed to the elevator and was greeted with shock by who I saw in there.

"Ja-Jared?" I asked not quiet believing my eyes.

"Da-Daniela?" He mimicked and this time I know what I'm seeing is real.

"What are you doing here?" putting my hands on my hips.

"I'm here to see a friend." He simply stated.

"Are we friends?"

"Yes but don't make your head so big. I wasn't here to see you. In fact I really am here to see a friend." My eyes widened in resignation.

"Y-you mean Sir Seth?"

"Yeah." He grinned.

"Oh" was my only response.

"Why? Are you disappointed it wasn't you that I came here for?" He said smirking.

"You know what let's just go. He's waiting for you."

"Changing the subject aren't we?"

"No" I responded.

We walked til we came at Sir Seth's office.  I knocked and he let us in.

"Uhh sir... sir Jared is here to see you."

"Ok. You may go now." He gestured to the door.

I walked to the door and saw Jared winking at me before I got there.

I sighed. Huh Typical Jared.

Jared's POV

"You know you shouldn't do that to my employees." Seth said his voice typically cold.

"You know you shouldn't be so hard on her." I told him.

"Don't tell me what to do." He said sternly. I could already feel his anger rising.

"Oh? Then if you don't want me to tell you what to do then you better should know what to do!" I barked.

"Why do you care anyway? This is my company. These people are my employees and I can do what I want!"

"You know very well why I care! And I know this is your company and employees but for God's sake Seth they are also people!"  He tensed at what I just said. I knew I hit something there.

Right now we're already shouting at each other and I didn't care one bit if someone heard us.

"If you won't treat her badly this time I swear I'm gonna find her a better job than this hellhole." I threatened then walked out the room to the only place I find peace.
