You were both escorted down to a large room where the President and the First Lady awaited your arrival. Tony had managed to arrive in time for the dinner, drunk as usual to Margaret's dismay.

"Where the bloody hell were you" She glared, as he followed you both down the hall. He laughed. "I could say the same for you according to what I heard from home last night" He said, in a cold manner. He then turned to you. "So you must be Lady Y/N" he spat, looking down at you in complete utter disgust. "Don't bring Y/N until this" Margaret snarled. "I have better things to worry about than the commoners your bedding, Margaret" he glared. "I just came to thank you I now have reasonable grounds to file for divorce and leave this drastic marriage"

Margaret retaliated by smacking him firmly across the cheek. "Have some respect you vile sorry excuse of a man" He looked at her, surprised at how fast she'd lept to your defense. "You'd be nothing without me. A nobody. So keep your mouth shut at least for the duration of this god forsaken meal whilst your still apart of this family"

He was silent after that. Not a word was spoken again before you reached the large dining room of the White House. The doors swung right open and you were greeted by the President and First Lady. "Ah Princess Margaret" he said, greeting her with a slight kiss on the cheek then shaking the hands of Tony and yourself. You were all led into a grand room. There was a large table with approximately 12 faces either side staring back at you. You noticed four vacant seats at the head of the table which you presumed were for the two couples.

There was one empty chair near to where the Royal couple would be sitting. You took your place and sat whilst the President made an announcement. "Today brings a new forming relationship between the United Kingdom and The United States of America.. We hope that The Princess Margaret and the Count of Snowdon, Anthony Armstrong-Jones have enjoyed their tour of our country and hope that this new formed friendship brings joy to both our countries"

They all raised glasses and the evening commenced. It was a remarkable affair. The dinner was grand. It consisted of a three course meal followed by events that you'd only believe if you'd have been there yourself. As the evening went on, more alcohol was consumed and the drunker everyone, including the Princess got.

She danced the night away with the President after they'd bonded over being second which Margaret highlighted when she made the simple comment about how she was used to being Vice Queen all her life in comparison with Lyndon being the Vice President for three years. You were filled with tension at how this could possibly be an insult to the late JF Kennedy's memory however the President laughed it off as did the rest of the dinner party.

The evening then led with Margot singing and dancing. She even played a little well thought out tune on the piano to everyone's amazement. She grew close with the President and danced the night away. It was nice to see let her hair down for once and relax to enjoy herself without the fear of everything else that was going on outside that room. Everyone loved her. It was hard not to. Margaret was and always has been the life of the party.

The funniest part of the evening was when she traded limricks with the President himself. "There once was a young lady from Dallas" Margot giggled. "Who used a dynamite stick as a phallus". Everyone bursted out in fits of laughter but also shock at The Princess's appalling choice of words. "They found her vagina.. in North Carolina" she said, raising her brows as well as a freshly poured glass of whiskey. "and her arsehole in Buckingham Palace". Laughter roared across the room. The whole room was enchanted by Princess Margaret's charisma and personality for it was not what they were expecting of a Royal princess.

It was fair to say the dinner was a success. The President agreed to the bailout which put both you and Margot in great spirit. A very drunken Princess toasted at the end of the evening to 'feeling very welcomed and at home in America' after she'd foxtrotted with President Johnson to 'Everything's Coming Up Roses,"as the evening came to an end.

You both went to the bedrooms together however thought it was best that you slept apart just this once given the current situation you both found yourselves in.

You both kissed goodnight and went into your rooms completely exhausted. Stumbling over to your wardrobe, you pulled out a random pair of pyjamas and changed as soon as your dress fell to your knees. You indulged into the comfort of the silk sheets and plump pillows as your body melted into the mattress. Sleep didn't come easy to you that night for your tummy was in bits over the fact you and the Princess had to return home and face the wrath over your forbidden affair. You were nervous however ready. Ready to face whatever tommorow would bring and to know the fate of yours and Margot's forbidden affair no matter what it was.
