I walked out of the room feeling strange. For one, I suppose I'd just gotten a promotion to be one of the most senior members of the Royal Family's leading lady. The second, that I now officially lived at Buckingham Palace.

It was quite late when I got out of Princess Margaret's room way past the ending of my shift so I decided to head back to my old apartment. I unlocked the door and walked inside to find that it was completely empty.. all that was left was a small note that read "your belongings have now been transferred to Buckingham Palace on behalf of Princess Margaret, Countess of Snowdon". As I looked around at what once used to be my home, I felt a sense of sadness as this little flat, although it wasn't much in value or price was my own. I'd worked hard for it. It was my home.

I was exhausted and drowsy when I decided to leave my little flat for the last time. I eventually set back off to Buckingham Palace at 8pm and decided to take the bus as I couldn't face walking any further. I arrived at approximately 9:30pm and headed straight towards Margaret's chambers where I was by the girl I'd previously met during my 'meeting' with the Princess. "Her Royal Highness has specifically requested that your apartment is directly opposite to her chambers, obviously so it is easier and more efficient for you to carry out tasks.. if you'd like to follow me" she said.

As we walked along the long corridors, huge glass windows with long, red vibrant curtains embroided with gold stitching hanging over either side of each of the three windows. We eventually reached Margaret's chambers and directly across was a baby blue door with a white glossy handle. I smiled for this was the exact shade of blue on the door of my old apartment but how could she possibly know that I wondered.

I opened the door and was completely taken aback at what I saw. A large bed - similar to the one in the Princess's bedroom with intricate green designs carefully laid out on to a pale pink duvet cover. There was a small table and chairs - not as expensive or as charming as the one in Margaret's bedroom just a small, plain brown table with two wooden chairs. On the table, there was a large jug of water and at either side, two small glasses.

I walked over to a large wardrobe where I discovered all my clothes had been neatly hung on matching hangers and below, were matching drawers that inside all my different garments, tops and skirts were all folded tight and compact. Everything was so well organised. I was completely exhausted and couldn't wait to dive into the silky covers that ran smoothly across my legs and rest my head on the plump cushions that were carefully placed equally along the bed.

I dressed into some beautiful khaki matching pyjamas and went to sleep ready to await my first day. As soon as my head hit the pillow, I was out like a light.
