As I was heading out, I noticed David get up, leaving the two other guys at the table. Wanting to avoid contact, I slightly picked up my pace. I realized there was no escaping the inevitable. This was going to happen sooner or later but i was trying to avoid it for Elena's sake.

"Gilinsky wait up!" David called from behind me. I heard the creak of the hinges on the door, signaling he was on my tail.

I halted in my place, facing away from him. He stayed silent so I took this moment to unlock my car and secure the coffee cup inside.

I turned around clenching my fists, stopping myself from injuring his face. "So help me god I will hurt you if you're here to discuss about Elena."

David sighed and shook his head. "I am here to talk about her but not about what you think." He stuffed both of his hands in his front pockets. "You have to tell her."

"She already knows that I kept the bet from her, why are you bringing it up," I snapped.

"I'm not talking about that, I meant with what happened and how we know each other," he corrected.

"There's nothing to tell. You burned my sister for revenge and didn't even think how it would affect my family," I spat through gritted teeth.

This caught David's attention, making him stand up straighter, removing his hands from his pockets.

"You have no fucking right to bring up sisters!" He said raising his voice. "Not after what you did to mine."

"It was an accident. I never meant for Ness to get hurt, I cared about her." I sighed.

"Doesn't matter anymore because she's dead Jack." He deadpanned. "And I didn't come here to fight with you," he grunted. I know he was trying not to break down, "but you know you have to tell Elena. You more than anyone know that she deserves to know the truth."

Without another word, David slumped his shoulders and walked away. He threw one last glance over his shoulder and gave me a small nod.

"This isn't going to be easy," I whispered to myself, running my fingers through my hair.

Unlocking my car and sticking the keys in the ignition I made my way out of the parking lot. I was careful not to crash into any clumps of ice from yesterday's snow fall. Within five minutes I made it back to Lena's place but instead of getting out I stayed glued to my seat, pondering about everything David said.

I couldn't tell her. If she didn't hate me before, she'd hate me now more than ever and I wouldn't blame her.

It was all my fault.

The small knocks on my window brought me out of my reverie, my eyes meeting with a pair of soft brown ones. Elena was standing there with a small smile on her face, covered only by shorts and a tank top, shivering. I unlock the door giving her a chance to open it and once she does so, I move my body so I'm facing her.

"Baby it's freezing out here, what are you doing?" I frowned at her exposed body, immediately wrapping her in my arms.

"What took you so long?" she said softly while pulling back, standing between my legs.

"I went to grab some stuff for my girl," I motioned toward the passenger seat.

"Oh," she smiled.

Running her hands up and down her arms, trying to rid of the goosebumps her tank top slowly started to rise up, exposing her stomach. I swallowed slowly, peeling my eyes away from her bare skin.
