I'm calling his bluff. I know Jack wouldn't have kept such a huge thing from me. I know that he would've told me if he knew.

I spotted Jack by his locker but I waited a few lockers down so he could finish talking to his teammates.

What if Jack really did lie to me? I don't want to over react, I felt my heart shatter when David said those things. I couldn't imagine hearing those words coming out of Jack's mouth.

"Hey hey, what's wrong baby?" Jack whispered, noticing the worry in my eyes.

I looked into his eyes letting a few tears fall. Jack's worried eyes kept searching my own, for answers.

"We need to talk," I said somewhat composing myself.

"What is it, why are you crying?" he asked rubbing circles on my cheek.

"I ran into David after fifth period," I hinted, hoping he'd realize what I meant.

"If he hurt you again, i-"

"No Jack he's not the problem," I blurted gently shaking his hand off of my cheek.

He knitted his eyebrows together, forming a perfect crease on his forehead, tilting his head slightly.

"Okay then, what is?" he asked genuinely confused.

"You knew about the bet the whole time," I spat.

Instead of replying, he looked down and nodded his head softly. I couldn't help but let a silent tear escape now that this nightmare became reality.

"Wait, at least give me a chance to explain," he said knowing I was going to walk away any second.

I nodded signaling for him to explain. Jack looked to the ground once more, probably trying to sort out his words.

"I only knew for a few days and you were mad at me, so I knew that if I told you, you wouldn't have believed me" he ranted.

"God, would it have killed you to try?" I snapped at him.

"Yes because you're fucking stubborn Elena! You were so caught up with him that you didn't even notice that he was just screwing with you," Jack raised his voice, clenching his fists.

I glanced around and saw that the hallway was no longer filled with students. Grateful that everyone was already in lunch, I looked back at Jack.

"Your not one to talk about "screwing with people" because you've been screwing with Stacy and Leigh this whole time. You're no saint Jack!" I barked back.

"YO GILINSKY, WE GOTTA GO MAN!" Johnson yelled from the double doors leading to the field, interrupting our heated argument.

Jack nodded and signaled that he'd be there in a minute. Johnson disappeared from the door, back into the field. Jack was already calming down, relaxing his clenched fists.

"I was trying to protect you, but if this is what I get for trying then I'm done," Jack said walking past me.

Without another glance back, Jack disappeared into the same double doors Johnson peered his head from.

"He's right you know," a female voice peeped from the corridor.

As she came closer, I engulfed her into a tight hug. Missing her vanilla haired scent, I squeezed her tighter, letting tears collide with my cheeks once again as she squeezed back.
