Sleeping was a nightmare in itself.
Not only did I get very little of it, but every time I closed my eyes, I could only picture all the possibilities of Jack cheating on me.
Looking down at my hand, I smiled at the ring that rested lightly on my left hand, remembering that day.
Jack gave me this ring for a reason and doubting him is only gonna hurt our relationship.
With a small grunt, I rolled myself out of bed and headed straight to my bathroom to get ready for school.
Hopping in the shower, I began rinsing my hair thoroughly. I stood there letting the warm water fall down my back and replaying yesterday's events.
After a good fifteen minutes I decided I've tortured myself enough, and got ready for school.
Lazily, I threw on a pair of black skinny jeans along with a white tank top under Jack's varsity jacket. I went back to my closet, grabbed my backpack and laced up my white high-top converse.
Putting on a bit of makeup, I ran my fingers through my hair making it look presentable and headed to the kitchen.
I checked my phone and I saw that I had no missed calls or new texts. A wave of disappointment washed over me.
What was I even expecting? An apology? For what?
Before my thoughts could scare me any further, my doorbell chime echoed through the apartment.
I stalked to the door, absentmindedly turning the door knob without checking who it was. I regretted opening the door the minute I saw who was on the other side.
"What do you want?" I spat.
"Look, I just came here to talk," he sighed, with his hands up in defeat.
As if I would want to talk to him after what happened. He can't seriously think things are gonna be all fine and dandy because he shows up on my front step.
"I have nothing to say to you," I shrugged, still keeping the door halfway open.
"Look I don't know what you think happened but you need to let me explain. You owe me that much."
"Oh that's rich coming from you!" I growled, not being able to contain my anger in check. "I don't owe you a thing Matthews."
"You're right you don't owe me anything, but what have you got to loose? Your pride? Get over yourself Elen-" he cut himself off, running a hand over his face with a long sigh.
"I didn't come here to fight with you. But you at least deserve to know the truth." He looked so hopeless.
Besides he was right. I didn't have anything to loose.
"Look can we do this another time, I have to get to school," I muttered, stepping outside, locking the door behind me.
"Sure. Just let me know." he half smiled, moving aside to let me leave.
Before I could get far, his hand gently wrapped around my upper arm, tugging me back to face him.
His eyes were pleading and begging for me to forgive him. I know if Jack did something like that, I'd forgive him in a heart beat because everyone deserves a second chance.
