I was never early to school, but I now realize that I should be more often. It was so quiet and peaceful in the senior parking lot when there weren't teens smoking and blasting music before classes.
I took my keys out of the ignition and made my way to the little wooded bench near the school entrance. There wasn't even as little as conversations being carried nearby due to the emptiness.
Not gonna lie, it's kind of spooky being in a parking lot at 6:30am and all alone, the sun not risen yet.
Peaceful nonetheless.
Omaha breezes make up for what our sunrises lack. I would love to go back to California though, before college. I really miss everything about it: the sunsets and sunrises, the beaches, the weather, even my parents and so much more.
Seated on the wooded bench thinking about various things, I snuggled into Jack's hoodie as much as possible, trying to get some sort of warmth radiating through my body.
I mentally cursed at our principal for not having the school doors unlocked this early, while sipping on my hot chocolate that I grabbed from Java Chip, on my way here.
Halfway through my hot chocolate, the sun began to rise and a black Jeep-that I was all too familiar with-pulled up.
He exited his car and walked over to me with a melt-worthy smile plastered on his perfectly sculpted face.
Rocking his maroon lacrosse jersey, along with his jeans and matching vans, he left his hair naturally messy.
As he approached me he took his left hand from behind his back that was holding a crimson red rose with a mini skittles bag attached to the stem.
I didn't give it a second thought when jumping into his arms that were immediately secured around my waist, holding me to make sure I wouldn't fall. I pulled back and planted little kisses on his cheek repeatedly.
"Woah, I should do this more often if this is going to be my reward from now on," he joked when I pulled away from his embrace.
"I'd give them to you regardless," I giggled walking backwards.
"Oh really," he smirked, walking closer to me, dropping the rose on the bench.
I bit my lip and nodded as he cornered me into the brick wall. He balanced himself with his left hand against the wall, next to my head.
His breathing increased as did mine, due to the close proximity. I could tell he was nervous to make a move, but he slowly came closer.
He leaned his head slightly foward but went no further. Keeping his same distance, his breathing became heavier, his eyes pacing back and forth from my eyes to my lips, inching closer.
Before I could seal the deal, he ducked his head to the side and left his lips lingering on my cheek for a moment longer.
After he pulled back he gave me an apologetic look, tracing my cheek with his thumb.
Embarrassed, I shook his hand off my cheek and walked away from him. I went back toward my book bag and grabbed it, making my way to my car.
"Lena wait!" Jack shouted.
I stood still in my spot, not daring to turn around and meet his eyes. I could hear his footsteps getting closer and closer, so I began to walk away again.
Before I could get too far, Jack tugged on my wrist quite forcefully, making me spin around and drop my bag in the process, immediately crashing his lips on mine.
