Third period went by and I still hadn't seen Jack. He's never missed Philosophy class, its his favorite.

"Hey Tor, have you seen Jack today?" I asked.

"No he wasn't in first and second period either," she explained.

"Huh, that's weird," I concluded.

Tori just nodded her head and followed me to the cafeteria.

Why do you even care where Jack is?

My conscience has a point for once. I don't know why I had taken such interest in Jack's absence, when he's been ignoring me this past week.

Ever since the little argument in the cafeteria, he hadn't bothered to talk to me, like usual, when something goes down between us.

I spotted the girls but walked up to Johnson's table and greeted all 3 boys.

"Hey guys, can I borrow Johnson for a minute?" I smiled at Nate, not wanting to meet Sammy's eyes.

The boys simply nodded their heads and smiled but Sammy's smile turned into a smirk.

I dragged Johnson by the wrist and lead him to the hallway.

"What's going on?" he questioned.

"Where's Jack? He missed all his morning classes today," I said with slight curiosity.

"Wait, I thought you guys were on the hate rotation in the love/hate relationship cycle. I'm sorry I can't keep up with you two," he snickered.

I slapped his chest lightly with the back of my hand and gave him an annoyed face.

"Fine," he huffed, "He's sick so his Dad told him to stay home."

Jack must be really sick if his Dad let him skip school. I subconsciously began to worry.

What if he has a really high fever and ends up in the ER.

Johnson put his firm hands on my delicate shoulders and shook them slightly, blurring my thoughts.

"Don't worry L, he just has a cold and a slight fever. Nothing hospital worthy," he joked at the end.

I sighed in relief knowing he was okay. I looked up at Johnson, only to find a smirk plastered on his face.

"It's kinda cute how much you care for him, almost makes me wanna throw up," he teased.

I rolled my eyes, "As if."

"So should I tell him your gonna visit later?" he smirked.

"There is no way in hell I'm going to visit that asshole," I scoffed at his pathetic assumption.

"I just wanted to make sure the sickness didn't get to him before I did," I continued.

"Whatever helps you sleep at night," he winked and left me dumbfounded in the hallway.

The final bell rang, signaling that school was over. I made my way to my car and headed off of school property.

The minute I saw our white and maroon cougar flag in my review mirror, I let out a sigh of relief. I was exhausted and just wanted to go home and sleep.

Letting out a an annoyed puff of breath, I parked my car and entered Walgreens. I clutched my jacket tight, hoping it would radiate warmth through my body.

I needed to get a few things before the weekend came because then I would be too lazy to actually get them.

Soap, Laundry Detergent, Nutella, and nail polish were my needed items. I walked through the isles quickly, wanting to get home as soon as possible.
