Something New

After the famed Uta no Pri event, we didn't know something even more spectacular was about to take place in the following weeks.

"The president called for us right?" Masato spoke.

"Yep, he told us all to meet him in his office." Tokiya nodded.

"I wonder if it's another job." Cecil ponders.

"Maybe it is." I pondered. "Uncle we're here!"

I open the doors to his office to see QUARTET NIGHT there as well. I look around and didn't see Uncle.

"You were called as well?" Ai raised a brow at us.

"Ai-senpai!" Natsuki cheerfully waves.

"Were you called as well Otoya, Tokiya?" Reiji tips his hat.

"We were!" Otoya greets cheerfully.

"I wonder why we were all called." I search for Uncle when the lights turn off.

I brace myself for his grand appearance.

"Welcomeeee STARISHHHH anddddd QUARTET NIGHTTTTT!" He drops from the ceiling and spins around with light effects all around us.

"Why have you called us here?" Camus kept his composure.

"Welllllll!" He sits on his chair and stares at us well. "Melodyyyy."

"Yes?"

"I'd like for youu to compose anddd sing with QUARTET NIGHT's individual membersss."

"Huh?" I look at them and they just looked as puzzled as I am. "What is this for Uncle?"

"I'll tell you soonnnn." He dismissed my question with a wave. "As for you STARISH."

I see the guys stiffen up.

"I have arranged your songs made by a different composerrr!" He gave each one a file. "You are to sing those songs as you would if it were Melodyssss."

The guys learned as professionals you must be able to sing any song to its fullest potential. Personal feelings don't get in the way of work. We all established that.

"We accept!"

"Goooooddddd!" He spins around more. "I'll call you all back when it's time!" And he disappears.

We all exit his office wondering what his bigger plan was.

I stayed with QUARTET NIGHT to discuss some things while STARISH heads back.

"Take care." Tokiya doesn't forget to kiss my forehead before leaving.

"You too."

I along with QUARTET NIGHT sat in the living room area thinking silently.

"You guys have any ide-" I was cut off immediately.

"I'll be heading back." Ranmaru suddenly stood up and left.

"I as well." Camus took his leave.

"Me too." Ai left too!

"Uhmm...." I look at Reiji and he just shrugs.

"Don't worry about it!" He forces a smile. "I'll tell them our plan tomorrow."

"If you say so." I look at where they left hesitant to meet without them. "Uncle assigned our jobs to work on right?"

"Yep!" He leans back and placed a hand on his chin. "I believe Camus has to sing a song for an event while Ai has a drama song to record and act in." He stops.

"What about Ranmaru?"

"He... He supposedly has a rock concert to perform in but he rejected it already."

"But... That doesn't seem like him. Doesn't he love rock?"

"You have to find that out yourself junior!" He winks at me.

"What about you?"

"You have to wait for that too!" He laughs. "Don't worry work with Ranran first then Ai then Camus and finally me!"

"You sure know everyone's schedule." I lean back and took some notes down.

"Of course!" He grins. "I'll inform you once you finish with the others okay?"

"Sure! Good night Reiji."

He waves me a goodbye and disappeared into a corner. I stayed behind a bit to think about everyone in QUARTET NIGHT. The notes I had of each of them weren't enough to write a heartfelt song about them so I decided to spend more time with each of them and figure them out even more. The song had no real restrictions it just had to match the theme of their specific job.

"You're still awake Melody?" Ms.Ringo came in the front door and saw me.

"Welcome back! And yes I'm still thinking of QUARTET night." I sheepishly shrug.

"Need any help?" She sat down beside me and asked to see my notes. "Wow, you're really good at reading people!"

"It's not enough but thank you!"

"One thing to note about their group." I raise a brow at her. "Reiji is the one holding them together. Without him, the group will fall apart. Well, I think."

"I could see that..." I remember their faces during our concert. "But I think they'll do fine."

"I believe so too." Ms.Ringo patted my head and gave me my notebook back. "Now off to bed you go. You have long days ahead of you!"

"Yes yes. Good night Ms.Ringo!"

I head up to my room and got ready for bed. The entire time I was thinking of what my Uncle was truly planning as well as for STARISH and QUARTET NIGHT. My brain was exhausted and so I hit the hay.

Tomorrow was going to be strange.
