"What do you mean he hid his bass???" I ask Ranmaru's roommates.

"It suddenly disappeared from its stand." Masato points to where it used to be.

"We asked him about it but," Ren shrugs. "He told us he's giving up rock."

They explained that he gave up loving rock music in order to focus on the group. Somehow they managed to get that out of him after bugging him about his missing bass.

"Well, at least I know something for now. Thank you for telling me you two."

We decided to go our separate ways after that and do our own things.

I went to find Ranmaru to talk about his song and I found him just before he hopped inside his car. We were about to meet anyway so I had my bag and stuff with me.

"Get in." He nudged his head signaling me to follow him. So I did.

"What are you doing today?" I ask to start a conversation.

"We have a group photo shoot."

"But where are the others?"

"They came from different places so we're heading there separately. Also, I have a request."

"Hm? What is it?"

"Don't make our song rock."

"Oh....?" I muster up the courage to ask something stuck in my mind. "Why did you decline the rock concert performance you were given?"

"Hm?" He doesn't take his eyes off the road and merely raises an annoyed brow. "Who told you?"

"I-I just heard it from here and there." I make up an excuse not wanting to get anyone in trouble.

"It was probably that annoying idiot." He clicks his tongue which made me jump. "That job was a request from my old band. I declined it cause I got another job offer that day. That's all."

"But what about your bass? Why hide it?" I look at him with curiosity. Will he tell the truth or hide it?

"I decided to give up rock music to focus on QUARTET NIGHT." He states with blank emotions. "I want to focus on the group and nothing else."

"Is that it?" He just nods. "But I don't th-"

"We're here." Cutting me off immediately, he parked the car and head towards the studio.

During the preparations, I observe everything about him. The way he talks, interacts, and reacts. Everything I can discover about him I write it down. A shadow appears on my notes and I look up to see Reiji smiling at me.

"Yahoo!" He winks. "Came here to cheer us on?"

"Does she look like she's here for that?" Ai blatantly spoke.

"Commoner." Camus nods my way, acknowledging my presence.

"Hello to you too." I stood up and bowed. "I came here to observe Ranmaru."

"For the song? " Ai looks at me and I nod.

"Good luck with that." Camus scoffs.

"Do your best junior!" Reiji pats my head and they all left to get ready for the shoot.

They began the shoot, and the director graciously allowed me to stay and watch them. The theme of the shoot was posing with the instruments that they personally played. Camus posed with a cello which somehow suited his appearance. Ai posed with a synthesizer, Reiji with maracas, and Ranmaru with bass.

When it was Ranmarus's turn I could see his expressions clearly. He was hesitant, angry, and even scared. As if fighting an inner battle. He quickly composed himself and posed brilliantly with the bass. The expressions he was giving was unlike any other. It was full of passion, excitement, and even love.
