Price of a Deal

The crowd reacts differently at my sudden announcement.

"I decided this myself." I look at the 3 groups beside me. "I'm doing this for them and for myself as well."

The crowd goes silent and listens to my explanation.

"I love each time I sing with them, truly. But I can't deny that I am biased." I lower my head. "That's why I want to give them all a fair chance to perform at the SSS concert. I don't want to give unfair chances to these talented groups. So I hope you can bare with me!" The crowds begin to stir at this.

"I have approved of this as wellllll!" Uncle stands beside me.

"Yes. Un-I mean President Saotome has agreed to my wishes and I wish you all would as well." I do a 90-degree bow. "I'm sorry for being selfish!"

Again the crowd begins to stir but they were shouting reassurance at me. I tear up slightly, touched by their immediate understanding.

"Thank you, everyone!" I remain bowing until I felt a hand on my head. "You guys..."

QUARTET NIGHT and STARISH stood behind me and all gave me reassuring smiles.

"We won't let you down." Tokiya holds my hands.

"Thank you." I smile right back at him.

"But!" We all look at Uncle. "In turnnnn!"

"You will participate in the duet project between HEAVENS and STARISH!" Raging Otori continues.

Again...what in the f-

"What do you mean by this?" I react as calmly as I could. Suddenly it clicked...it was Uncle's end of the bargain.

"You will compose and sing for the duet project. Between STARISH and HEAVENS!" Raging Otori looms over me.

"What do you mean by this father?" Eiichi even didn't know his father's plan.

"Yeah explain it to us!" Nagi pouts.

"A member from each respective group will work together along with her." Raging Otori points to me. "To give the best experience!!!"

"Exactlyyyyyy!" Uncle rolls his tongue.

"And whoever wins the competition will get to keep her!"

"Excuse me what?!" I couldn't stop myself from saying that. Not only was I going to work more, but I'm being treated as a prize by them as well?!?

"President!" Ren begins to retort.

"Even for you, that's too much!" Cecil protests as well.

"Please think this over!" Tokiya even lost his cool.

"STOP!" Uncle silence us and the crowd. "This was already discussed by the both of us. Compose and sing for the duet project and compose for the songs to be sung at the competition. Whoever wins will get you." He states with no room left for arguments.

"This doesn't seem like a fair deal at all." I whisper. I couldn't tell what Uncle was thinking about! Not to brag but I am a valuable asset to his company by giving me up he is losing that asset! "Even if I have to change companies, you'll still push through with this?" I ask calmly, not wanting to embarrass myself any further.

"Yessss." He didn't even hesitate.

I look at the guys and saw the determination in their eyes. Even the new HEAVENS members look pumped. QUARTET NIGHT looks as determined as ever since this was what they kind of wanted anyway. But overall STARISH looks even more determined and protective even.

"Alright then." I succumb to their wishes because there is no use fighting now. "Let's do this then."

"Are you sure?" Masato whispers beside me.

"We can try to stop him." Natsuki steps forward.

"We can't let them take you!" Syo almost growls.

"We won't give you up!" Otoya looked ready to fight.

"I'm doing this because I believe in you all." I look at them. "Nothing against you guys." I look at HEAVENS and QUARTET NIGHT. "This was the exact reason why I didn't want to be part of the competition." Whispering to myself.

The event ends with a happy note and we all hung out backstage without our company presidents.

"It's definitely been a while Kira." I offer my hand and he shakes it.

"It has." He is still as quiet as ever, but he lets out a small smile.

"Hey, we're here too!" Nagi pouts my way.

"Hello to you too Nagi." I pat his cute little head. "Mind introducing us?" I signal to their new members.

"This is Otori Eiji. My younger brother." Eiichi introduces.

"I'm Kiryuin Van!" A flirty-looking man takes my hand and kisses it.

"I'm Hyuga Yamato." Another looks away shyly.

"This is Amakusa Shion." Nagi introduces a quiet-looking man.

We introduce ourselves.

"I look forward to working with you all." I bow respectfully.

"We look forward to it too." Eiichi grins.

The event ends and we went our separate ways. I sigh and lean back on the car ride home.

"Worried?" Tokiya asks.

"Yes..and confused. Very much confused." I admitted.

"I still can't understand what President is thinking." Syo sighs.

"I'm confident in our skills but still." Ren also sighs.

"Let's just all do our best for the time being." Masato nods.

"I wonder how it's like working with HEAVENS." Natuski ponders.

"I wonder too." Cecil thinks.

"You should rest up." Otoya pats his shoulder. "You've done well today."

"You're right. I'll just worry about it later." I feel the exhaustion hit me as I lean on Otoya.

"Here." Tokiya hands me his blazer to act as a blanket.

"Thanks." I smile at him and drift off to sleep.

HEAVENS, QUARTET NIGHT, and STARISH. What could go wrong?
