I explained everything I knew about the younger Otoya. His parents weren't around to take care of him. He never knew his father, while his mother dies early due to illness. His aunt took care of him after he lost his parents but met the same fate as his mother early on.
"Otoya felt like it was his fault everyone around him kept leaving. When he arrived at the orphanage he was so gloomy. He couldn't smile at all..." I let out a sad sigh. "But he slowly opened up to the other kids there and to me too."
"I see...I never knew he had such a sad past." Ren frowns.
"But what about the sunflower field?" Syo asks.
"Well his aunt owned a field full of sunflowers and they used to go there all the time before she was confined in the hospital. Sadly, after she passed no one was able to take care of them and they all withered away. I think that is something Otoya pushed far back into his memory and now Eiichi brought it back out." I could only sympathize with Otoya's situation.
"I didn't imagine he had such emotional scars." Masato looks at the ground.
"Maybe he thinks something will happen to us if he stays" Ren spoke sadly.
"I would assume so." I take a deep sigh.
"But why would he assume that right away!? Aren't we his friends?!" Syo's hand turns white from gripping it too hard.
"But I believe Otoya will be alright. I was the same too, but with everyone's help we're stronger." Natsuki lifted the mood of the room.
"I was the same too with my father. I kept running away and when I finally faced him I was at loss." Masato sympathizes.
"And yet you all got through it. We all did. I choose to believe in Otoya." I finally set my mind to it. I'm going to trust that he'll return.
"I do too." Ren winked.
"I hope he remembers that we are always there for him." Cecil smiles sadly.
"If only there was a way we could tell him how we feel." Tokiya ponders.
"There is..." An idea suddenly pops into my mind. "Remember when I was feeling down you all sang me a certain song?"
"THAT'S RIGHTTTTT!" Suddenly Uncle came crashing down from who knows where. "I will assist you all in bringing Ittoki Otoya back!"
"Uncle!" We all stood in shock and unexpectedness of the situation.
"We heard everything and want to help you all out!" Ms.Ringo appeared and with beside her Mr.Hyuga.
"Leave everything else to us." Mr.Hyuga grins.
"You guys are the best!" I cheer.
And so we did all the preparations we could and hoped our feeling would reach Otoya, where ever he is.
4 days have passed since we last saw Otoya and today was going to be when our little gift for him be broadcasted. The rest of STARISH, unfortunately, was unable to watch the broadcast together since they were all busy but I'm sure everyone was watching and waiting for Otoya to return. I open the TV in the living area all by myself and watched the special broadcast.
Ms. Ringo and Mr.Hyuga appear on screen with silly gift box costumes on. It was a special commercial for the anniversary of one of Uncle's hit songs and we STARISH are to send a special message to all the fans and most importantly to one of our own members.
"Here is a message from STARISH!"
A nostalgic melody fills the room.
T: You can cry whenever you want to cry
R: I'll still hold you and all your tears close!
N: After the rain, the sun will always rise
C: Illuminating the map to the future
