"I still don't understand why we have to take this fucking bus," James snarls under his breath, his fingers flexing on the steering wheel of his car as he shakes his head slightly.

I sigh in response, leaning into the leather of the back seat of his car, silently pledging my agreement to his quip.

I would much rather just drive a car to regionals, but we have to ride on the bus, and it's a wasted three hour drive on a bus that Kate doesn't really know how to drive.

But she insists that we sit on the cramped bus for the entire duration of the journey, she claims it's because it gives us an opportunity to bond before the competition, but this will be my third regionals, and each time the bus ride has only ended up in arguments.

James' sister was the worst for it, she argued with her boyfriend at every potential opportunity, and last year I was dragged into it because I just so happened to sit next to her, and I didn't have an excuse to get out of the conversation because Stephanie, who was sat on my other side, was fucking James in the toilet cubicle.

It was disgusting, and the toilet cubicle is tiny so I don't even know how they managed to do it. I think part of the reason why Aria was so insistent on arguing with Kyle is because she wanted to block out the noise of her brother's excessive moans, and Stephanie is a screamer, so it was really uncomfortable.

But neither of them actually cared, they didn't care about any of us overhearing them, they didn't even care about the fact that Kate and Chris heard them too.

But times have changed now, and I swear to god if James even tries to have sex with Riley on that bus then I won't hesitate to put a stop to it, and make his life a living hell afterwards.

It's hard enough to wrap my head around the idea that they are intimate together, I really don't need to hear a demonstration.

The thought itself causes a shiver to run down my spine, and I tilt my head towards the window, leaning against it as I look out at the dark sky.

The sun hasn't risen, it's not even five thirty yet, and I just wish I was asleep in bed instead of being stuck in a car with James.

"Stop complaining, it'll be fun," Riley quips back, her head shifting to meet his tired eyes as he flexes his fingers once again, concentrating on the road ahead as he drives over the speed limit like the idiot he is.

"I agree with James for once, the bus is never fun," I speak up, shifting in my seat as I snap my eyes forward to focus on James and Riley. "But I don't agree with the fact that you're literally trying to kill us by driving this fast."

James chuckles under his breath, biting his lower lip as he pushes harder on the gas pedal, increasing the speed just to purposely annoy me.

Dick.

I have no idea why he's so intent on pissing me off all the time, I think he finds it funny, but it's just fucking annoying, and boring now because being annoying is his only personality trait.
