I stayed behind at the studio a little bit longer than everyone else today, I really needed to finalise the choreo for the regionals routine, and thanks to Daniel, I can safely say I've learned the choreography completely.
He didn't have time to stay behind with me today, he had too much homework or something, but he filmed all of the routine and sent it to me late last night, honestly, he's so committed to helping me that I can't help but smile when I think about all the effort he's making for me.
Grabbing my bag, I walk out of studio A and down the corridor to the stairs.
Placing my foot on the first step, I hear voices coming from Studio B.
That's weird, everyone else has gone home and B troupe don't have rehearsals this late on a Wednesday.
I furrow my brows and begin to wonder if I should go and check out what's happening in studio B.
The last time it was this quiet and I heard voices was at my aunt's house, and she was doing some kind of creepy ass seance- so if this is history repeating itself, then there's no way in hell I'm getting involved.
I turn around and creep quietly towards the door of studio B, opening it slightly and looking in, I see Michelle, James, and Riley all dancing to the song for regionals- except their dancing a completely different routine and not using Emily's choreo.
Looking in at them, I see they've blended all three of their strongest styles together to make such a cool piece, it's way better than anything Emily could come up with, and I can't help but stare in awe at their synchronicity and perfect turns.
They stop half way through the song, glancing at each other with smiles plastered cheerfully on their faces, and their chests heaving up and down to show how out of breath they are by this routine.
This is what they should feel after dancing a full out regionals worthy routine, but when we dance Emily's routine, we barely even sweat.
This routine looks intense, and I want to be a part of it.
Clapping my hands together to applaud their slick routine, I'm met with three pairs of shocked eyes.
Even James looks worried, which makes me smile because he never gets nervous about anything, I guess this dance must mean a lot to him.
"Nice dance, guys," I assure them, looking at the three of them become increasingly worried as I step further into the studio.
I have no idea why they're worried, but I can't help but revel in this sudden feeling of power that surges through my body- it's quite fun.
James is the first to speak up, looking between Riley and Michelle, almost for... permission?
"Thanks man, it's just something that we've been working on for a few days," he replies nervously, darting his eyes anywhere around the room to avoid making contact with mine.
