Their hands are sealed tightly together, each of them staring nervously at the judges, anticipating their final decision.

Elite opposes them on the other side of the stage, their blue costumes sparkling against their lean bodies in the midst of the harsh flood lights that light up the stage, adding to both of the teams' nervous states.

I can hear the sound of Kate nervously tapping her foot on the ground behind me, her hands clasped together firmly to allude to her performance of actually being a well put together studio head.

She's barely scraping by in her job, and we still don't have a choreographer for next season.

Kate was a dancer once, but years of admin has taught her to bury herself in pay checks and finances rather than focusing on the purpose of her business: which is to train us to be competitive dancers.

I hope we get a good choreographer, we need one if we're going to succeed in nationals- assuming that we even qualify for nationals in the first place.

I think we have a pretty good chance though, I was absolutely captivated by our dance, the storyline was clear, and despite the hideous costume choices, all ten of the dancers were clean and danced well.

It may be a little biased to say, but West was definitely the stand out performer. I don't think I've ever seen him move like that, and I've seen him move a lot, and in a lot of different ways.

He was exceptional, and every time that he stole a quick glance at me, I felt butterflies swarm my stomach.

His cheeky smile made me blush, the confidence in his demeanour was so attractive, and I couldn't help but beam with pride for every beat of the song.

The rest of the dancers were great too, of course, and Michelle and Eldon's duet really helped to pull the piece together, and as much as I hate to admit it, we did need them to pull this all off.

We just need to qualify for nationals and then we hopefully won't have to rely on them to be the showstoppers anymore.

There's a duet round in the national competition, and lately the idea of West and I performing a lovers duet on the nationals stage has been playing on my mind nonstop.

It would be so amazing to work with him even closer, and the fusion of our styles would add even more to the piece.

I sifted through playlists of various songs throughout the entirety of my journey to regionals just to find the perfect potential ballad to capture the story of our love through dance.

I really do think that this could actually happen, it would make sense for Kate to let us perform a duet based around a queer love story, it would promote the inclusivity of the studio, and that would definitely attract more potential clientele.
