The day of the battle had finally come, Enne took her place in the medical tent with the other healers, preparing supplies and medicines for the wounded that were sure to arrive. Nia spent two whole days learning to ride a horse.
"ha it probably doesn't even know you're on, because you're so small"
"fuck off Peter, you're supposed to be teaching me"
"yea I know, I'm just going to enjoy seeing you struggle for a while"
The entire two days were insufferable for the both of them, filled with insults and glares, and so much arguing that anyone who came to watch the two train, left within five minutes. However annoying they were, the two managed to work and train together somewhat harmoniously.
The last day was spent training vigorously, both on horse and on feet. Nia had helped the soldiers and the kings polish up their sword skills and Susan taught Enne to shoot arrows so she would be able to fight if the war came down to it.
Dusk fell, signalling the last light. It was time for battle. Walking side by side in silence, The two kings and Nia mounted their horses and then took their place in the frontlines. Susan pulled the cloth that covered the orb's light, illuminating the entire field. Adjusting the magnifying glass, the light became stronger and more direct.
"I see you finally learned how to ride a horse" Peter smirked
"I see you finally learned how to put on armour" Nia shot back
The army rode forward, they could see a wave of shadow walkers run forward, the weaker ones instantly disintegrated. Nia, Enne and Aslan enchanted all of their weapons with light so that everyone would be able to fight the creatures effectively.
Seeing the larger shadow creatures emerge, Peter looked back at his army and his brother behind him, unsure of whether or not they would be able to stop the darkness.
"Hey" Nia called softly gaining the kings attention, "Don't overthink this, we don't have time for that right now" she kicked him in the leg lightly. Peter nodded stiffly looking back out into the crowd of shadows

"For Narnia!"

Aslan's army charged forward at the lead of their king, many of the creatures were trampled but the bigger ones were the issue.
Above, Susan at the watch tower was directing the light at the biggest creatures, and below Nia and Peter worked on the slightly smaller ones, the rest of the army focused on the medium ones that were easier to take on.
"Is there like a king or something we can take out?!" Peter yelled across the chaos to Nia. The girl turned and stabbed a creature before stopping dead in her tracks, looking forward with dread washing over her face.
"what the fuck are you doing?" Peter yelled as he killed a shadow that was going to attack the girl. He grabbed her arm, concerned. "I think I found the king" Nia muttered still not looking away from what she was previously looking at. Peter turned, fear coursed through his body at the sight of the giant shadow. "What the fuck" he whispered.
Nia finally snapped out of her trance to stab a creature behind the king, then grab him and pull him behind a log for cover,
"okay.. a minor set back" She said nodding, taking in what she just saw. Turning to Peter below her, still in shock, "A Minor Set Back?!" Peter looked at her bewildered
"yep definitely minor set back" She tried convincing herself, looking back at the creature then back at Peter again.
"yea ye yea yep yes totally fine all cool no doubt" He nodded along, "it's gunna be fine" Nia said again unconvincingly
"yea it'll be Finee..." They both stared at the giant for a little longer, poking their heads out from behind the log.
"uh could you get off me now"
"you're going back out there?" Nia looked shocked,
"yes because I have to" he mostly said to himself. He turned to her, his face serious, "You don't have to. You have done more then enough already" Peter gently flipped them over so they were still covered, but he was able to get up now without the girl on top of him. Nia stayed there for a minute, or longer, watching Peter leave. She rested her head back against the ground, closing her eyes. Sighing she pushed herself up and charged back in with the king.

"What are you doing?" Peter yelled over the noise
Nia scoffed, "what you think Id let you have all the fun?" She brought the magic to her hands, shooting it at multiple creatures at the same time.
In the tower, Susan finally spotted the giant. She turned the handles, redirecting the majority of the light towards it. Nia, catching on to what the girl was doing, pushed all her energy into her magic aimed at the beast. The light from the impact was building up, becoming brighter and brighter, even killing some of the monsters in the area.
"Peter! Get everyone back!" Nia called still using her magic on the giant
"What about you?" Peter yelled
"For fucks sake just Go!"

Peter nodded and started rounding up their army, leading them back to camp. Groups of people headed back, carrying their wounded on their backs or in their arms. Finally the king made sure everyone including his siblings were safe in the walls of their camp. Before he could turn to go back for Nia, there was a large explosion, the walls kept the people safe so no one inside was harmed,
"We did it!" Susan yelled from the watch tower. All around them people started cheering and celebrating, congratulating Peter and lifting the king on their shoulders.
Enne heard the commotion and rushed out of the medical tent, "What's going on?" She asked a faun, "We won!"

Filled with relief she rushed to the Pevensie's who were hugging in celebration.
The smile dropped from her face, as she looked around in realization

"Where's Nia?"
