"Gone for that long and you didn't even get dinner?" Edmund questioned his brother,
"At least they have tinder for the fire" Susan said taking the pile from them
"hey I got that, Peter didn't do shit. We have bread we can eat for now" Nia suddenly got serious, "we need to limit our time in the forest, and from now on we use the buddy system at all times. When you want to go far into the forest you take Enne or I with you." The girl looked at everyone making sure they understood that this was serious.
Edmund looked at the two confused, "What happened out there?"
"the creatures of the darkness are getting stronger, we need to move quicker. For now we'll sleep but we start moving as soon as the sun rises" Peter ordered,
"Enne even though your powers are for healing, I think you'll still be able to do some damage with them" Nia said nodding at her friend, "everyone get some sleep I'll take first watch"

The group woke up early in the morning and set a quick pace. Not encountering any of the creatures, they suspected they only come out during the night or in darkness.
"Shadow walkers" Edmund whispered in awe
"huh?" Nia turned to him
"we should call them shadow walkers" he explained. Nia looked at him again, realizing now how little the royals get to act like children, "sure" she smiled at him and accepted, even though the name is completely unoriginal.
By afternoon they approached an opening in a mountain. "We're close" Peter stated as he walked forward
"Anyone else get a bad feeling about this? No just me? ok" Enne muttered, "If we were in a horror movie we would definitely die first if we acted like this" Nia agreed with her friend.
They entered the mountain, it was surprisingly hollow. The group spent some time exploring the area
"I'm surprised it stays up like this, it doesn't look structurally sound" Susan mumbled. "hey look at this" Ed knocked on the wall, to reveal an echo throughout the mountain. It was silent for a moment, then all of a sudden a low rumble began and rocks started to fall, separating the group into three.
"Everyone ok?" Susan called through the wall that had formed, earning a series of yea's back, "Lu and I are together" She called.
"Ed and I are good too" Enne yelled back
"I'm with stupid and we're good" Nia shouted back, "oh and Ed?"
"yea?"
"Great fucking job" Nia called through the rocks, and heard a muffled "sorry" back.
"Everyone just keep moving North we'll meet back up outside the mountain" Peter called
"Oh great I'm stuck with you" Nia turned to the blonde, and gestured forward with her arm, "after you your majesty" she mocked rolling her eyes.

"hey Enne?"
"yea what's up" The girl said looking at Edmund while walking forward,
"do you feel overlooked sometimes?" Enne turned to him with a curious gaze, "I just mean because Nia is so... loud, and you know, everyone kind of looks at her instead of you"
"Uh well I never really thought of that before" Enne said looking slightly perplexed at the question
"I know I did, Peter always gets the attention and I used to get so jealous, but now I don't want attention on me... since the situation with the White witch"
Enne looked at the boy wondering why he's telling her all this, "Nia and I have been friends for a long time, she's not bad when you get to know her"
"no it's not that I don't like her, I was just wondering how you feel, in case idk no one asked you"
"I'm actually the one who made the decision to stay in Narnia, so if you think my opinions get overlooked you would be wrong. Though it may not seem like it, Nia often takes my advice and listens to me" Enne said, being off-put by what he was getting at. "I'm sorry you feel less than Peter, you shouldn't, but don't project your problems onto me" She stated calmly with a slight shake of her head.
"sorry" the boy stated again and they walked in silence for a bit, "wasn't trying to start anything" he continued, "just thought you would be able to relate". Enne sighed but remained quiet, unsure of what to say. "She can be a bit overwhelming at times" Enne admitted, Edmund turned back to her with a small smile.

"hey! why are you a complete and total asshole" Nia turned to the king, who rolled his eyes.
"you know I'm the king right? You should have some respect"
"ha What are you gunna do? Try to fight me again" She asked sarcastically, "no but forreal why are you being such a dick, what's your problem"
Peter remained quiet, thinking over his answer. "I- He was cut off by a snarl in the distance
"godamn it why is it always us" Nia groaned and drew her sword
"well I'd rather it be us than the others"
"for once I can agree with you" Nia chuckled "though I'd rather not have to deal with it at all" The two were back to back slowly circling while scanning the area for any threats. After a moment they figured everything was safe and moved away from each other.
"Anyways I was going to say I-
He got cut off again but this time by the floor falling out from under him. "Fuck, Peter?" Nia called looking down into the hole. "Aaand now I have to jump into the hole to save the stupid king don't I?" she asked herself out loud, "or I can leave ..."I tried everything, he couldn't be saved"" she said with mock sorrow, "ugh I hate being one of the good guys, fucking just HAD to fall in a dark hole didn't he?" She walked back towards the hole, "Should've just stayed home" she muttered before jumping in after the king.
