Peter wandered the dark halls of the underground cave. He'd managed to escape the room he was in and was following the sound of the creatures voices. They'd realized that he escaped so Peter had to be extra cautious about his actions.
Turning the corner, Peter came face to face with a cell with three of the creatures standing outside it blocking the view of what they had chained up in there.
"She will be ready for the harvest soon, make sure you have a replacement for the meal that escaped. She'll be hungry once she's turned"
Peter's eyes went wide as one of the creatures moved out of the way, allowing him to see their hostage. His vision went red and all he could think about was getting her out and away from this hell hole. Barely containing his rage, he remained hidden behind the crates, the king knew that he wouldn't be able to take on those things alone, he had to be smart or they'd both end up dead. Before he chance to think of a plan, the creatures were already unchaining, and dragging the girls limp body behind them to another room.
Remaining hidden Peter carefully followed behind them. They entered a large dining hall, filled with hundreds of the creatures. All of the attention was on a stage in the centre, where the girl was chained up across from a smaller cage holding an injured faun.
Oh my god are they gunna make her fight the faun? No that doesn't make sense... but then again what does?
Peter looked on confused at the whole scenario. Then one of the creatures spoke, "Tomorrow is the night of the blood moon, and it is then we shall welcome what will be one of our strongest members," it said gesturing towards Nia.
"This human contains powers that when converted will benefit us tremendously. We will no longer lurk in the shadows, we will no longer be a creature only heard of in legends, we will no longer be forced into starvation!" With each word the leader spoke, the crowd cheered louder and louder.
"After this day the world will know what we are and they shall fear us!"
Peter was in shock, Bruh I just wanna go home. Internally groaning he ducked behind a barrel and stayed there waiting for the creature to leave.
After countless hours of boredom and close-calls, the creatures all left the hall back to wherever the fuck they came from. Night had fallen and it was significantly darker than when they had came in, only the dull moonlight provided some aid to his vision. He did a quick check to make sure no one was there before he ran up to the stage.
    Nia started to stir awake
"Nia?" Peter whispered as he started to approach her. The girl looked up, the irises of her eyes were blood red and blood dripped from her mouth and wounds. She barred her teeth at him and growled, very much like a feral animal.
What the FucK. Peter jumped back a few steps, he definitely wasn't expecting that.
"Hey, remember me?" He tried gently talking to her, as if he was taming a beast.
"Nia I know you know who I am" He said continuing to slowly approach the girl. Nia had calmed down a fair amount, though her eyes remained red. "Peter?" she whispered, barely audible before slumping back down.
The king sighed in relief and quickly closed the distance between them.
"Oh my god my love, what did they do to you?" he muttered as he quickly undid the chains and held the girl in his arms. He turned to help the faun in the cage when Nia grabbed his arm, "don't."
He looked at her confused, "He's already dead... I-I think I did it." She stuttered out wiping the blood off her mouth and examining it in tired despair. Peter was silent for a moment, "Ok. We'll deal with that later, let's just get you as far away from these fucking fucks as we possibly can" He said gently stroking her cheek and lifting her into his arms bridal style.
He held onto her firmly as he quietly made his way through the corridors. They could hear the creatures eating their victims through the walls, Nia held Peter tighter hiding her face in his shoulder.
"It's ok, we're almost out" He whispered to her as they found a stairway leading upwards.
By this time it was almost morning and the two could see the opening of the cave instead. Suddenly they heard the screams of the creatures as they realized their bioweapon had gone missing. Peter started to sprint as the yells got louder and louder. They were coming for them, but it was too late, the pair had already reached the exit of the cave.
   Finally, they were safe.
"Peter," Nia coughed, "the sword, we forgot about the sword"
Peter grinned and pulled out an ugly lookin bone thing.
   "what the fuck is that?"
   "it's the sword"
"ew why does it look like that"
"how the hell am i supposed to know"
Nia rolled her eyes, "Hey a 'thanks for getting the sword and saving me' would be nice" Peter remarked nudging her.
"oh shut up" Nia grinned, closing the gap between them by kissing him.

"so what, are you like a vampire now?"
"aaand you ruined the moment"
