This can technically be counted as street strangers part two, but this is more like meeting my best friends' fans and then helping him be a huge troll to them. Don't worry, we apologized. Or I did at least. I'm not mean, I promise. Okay I'm kinda mean but that's not important, I'm here to tell you about randos and the beach. Storytime!
I didn't even know that there were beaches in Hell, but y'know what you learn everyday. I felt really dumb when I found out. Uh moving on!
So it was an off day for me. In fact I wouldn't be going back to work for two weeks since we'd just had a performance and I like to give myself and my ensemble two weeks of rest before jumping back into it. I was chilling at home in my pajamas, looking forward to doing absolutely nothing all day, and then I got a phone call. From Angel. And that can only mean one thing. You'll see what I'm talking about in a minute.
I don't why but Angel went to the beach by himself. First of all, my friend, you are hella attractive, and second you're wearing a fricking bathing suit, what were you expecting? That no one was gonna notice you? No! That's not going to happen for you ever buddy, hate to break it to ya. So he got there, and there were other people there and they noticed him. Apparently he just wanted to be left alone, today was not his day, so he called me.
"Candy bar, I need you to come here, bring the kids if you want. I need you to help me with something," he says when I pick up, not even waiting for me to say anything.
"Um okay?" I replied, "Why? Are you okay?"
"Yeah yeah I'm fine, I need you to help me confuse a bunch of people. Hurry!"
I knew what this was now. At first I was like "Do I really have to?" and then as the situation set in I knew that I should probably do him this favor. He does so much for me, I seriously owe him one. So, I told my kids and Alastor that we were taking a family trip and forced them all to come with me, there was no way I was going alone. I'm still not a social being. Not that anyone complained, they were all pretty much like "Cool, something interesting to do," and I was like "Ah yes, perfect! I get to bring my comfort zone with me to this uncomfortable place." Win-win! I'm helping my friend and I don't have to be insanely awkward and cringey.
So we get there and Angel sees me and immediately sweeps me and Jake off the ground in the biggest hug I've ever received in my life.
"You have no idea how happy I am to see you right now. Lookit all these people!"
There were a lot of people. And most of them were looking at us with a weird crazy look in their eyes. I most definitely saw a need to be there now.
"Alrighty," I said, "I think I have an idea of how to go about this."
Basically I was going to give us an excuse to be kinda mean to them. Jamie was learning photography and video stuff from Averie, since they share that common interest, so I glitched one of my good work cameras to us and told her to set it up somewhere no one else but us could see it. I gave Alastor the task of making sure she didn't break my good camera.
"Wait, what the heck are we doing?" Angel seemed to be mildly confused with my problem solving skills, and all I said back was "Do you trust me?"
"Duh, of course I trust you," was his immediate reply.
"Okay. Then trust me on this one."
I've said this before; Angel and I have a very particular friendship, the kind that confuses people because it looks like we're together. Even more so when Jake is with us. I had this thought in the back of my beautiful mind this entire time. You wanna troll these people? Let's confuse them further by acting the way we normally do in front of them. That way they get to be confused and slightly jealous. I'm not mean I swear! Moving on!
I also knew that I could get amusing content from this, which was the purpose of the camera. Hey, if we were gonna do this, we were gonna do it right. Other people get to laugh about this too, or it's not worth it in my opinion.
I didn't tell Angel what the camera was for, knowing that if I did certain actions might be intensified and I was not up for that. I convinced him to ignore it and we went about our business. Basically, we pretended no one else was there and did our normal thing, involving a crap ton of laughter, Angel's awful jokes (sorry bubs, I still think they're bad), lots of hugging and as the afternoon started to wind down a lot of him laying directly on top of me. Jake partook in this too, we looked like a legit family of three. And yes, of course there are pictures, Jamie was all over the photography. She and Ave even made an edit, it's up on my page if you were curious.
A lot of the people that were there backed off as the day progressed. I guess I kind of gave off a "Hey there, I'm his bodyguard, touch him and I'll decapitate you," sort of vibe. Fine by me, I mean, he wanted to be left alone and I gave him what he wanted. As long as he's happy I don't give a crap what other people think.
At the end, as we were packing up to leave I told Jamie to move the camera out into the open and then got everyone's attention. Yes, I really did apologize, I'm not a monster. I do like messing with people, but there's a line that I normally don't cross and I did that day. So, I showed them the camera and kinda fibbed, I told them we were just doing it for content and it wasn't meant to offend anyone. Hey, ain't nobody gotta know that Angel wanted to be a jerk on purpose. With that message given, Jamie insisted on a huge group photo so we did. That's also on my page, check it out if you want to.
That concludes today's story! I hope you enjoyed it, as always and I'll see you next time! Unimpressed Studios, singing off for now.
