Niall's POV.

"Dino nuggets!" Harry finally spoke, making all of us laugh at the funny choice of dinner he made.

"You have been staring at the fridge for almost ten minutes, looking like you were gonna do a crazy dish, and you are gonna make dinosaur nuggets?" Madison said while she laughed looking at Harry.

"You'll get used to it princess, he's like this almost all the time," I said looking at her, and she just kept looking at Harry, acting as she didn't hear me at all. "Well someone is deaf now."

She ignored me again, getting up from the stool and going to help Harry make the nuggets and some french fries, and I looked to my right as soon as I heard Louis laughing, furrowing my brows.

"What are you laughing at, tiny one?" I said, smirking and making Louis stop laughing.

"You, little doggy. You like her, look at you trying to get her attention." He said, smirking at me.

"Man, you should really stop smoking so many joints a day, it's starting to affect your brain." I said, leaving the kitchen and seating on one of the couches of the living room.

I didn't like her, not at all, I just enjoyed pushing her and arguing with her. It was just so easy to make her mad, I enjoyed it, but that's it.

I took a cigarette out and lighted it, taking a breath and feeling the smoke fill my lungs. I took a glance at the office's door, which was closed, so I guessed Liam was still in there talking about the situation with Jason.

After a few seconds, I heard someone enter the room, and there she was, rolling her eyes as soon as our eyes met.

"Hey Madison," I said, making her stop her way upstairs and turn around to look at me. "Forget it." I told her, trying not to smile or laugh so it wouldn't be that obvious that I was trying to mess with her.

"You know, Horan, you are a fraud." She said, crossing her arms and leaning into the stair's railing, staring at me. "You are always acting so brave, so strong, but is easy as hell to notice that you are not doing good."

"You don't know me, Jones," I said while looking at her, not breaking the eye contact. "I don't even think the boys do."

"Of course they know you, but they know the real you, not this asshole you are trying so hard to be," She said, making me grasp my throat. "They can't help you if you don't let them, you know."

"Have someone ever told you that you look like a lightbulb?" I asked her, seeing her furrow her brows at my words. "A lightbulb work is to give light, it makes darkness disappear." I started explaining. "But when it gives all the light it has, it stops working, because a lightbulb only gives, and gives, and gives, and it is always there whenever you need it; you just have to switch it on. Don't be a lightbulb, Madison." I said while getting up from the couch and walking to the stairs, with my eyes glued to hers. "Don't let people take everything you are, don't let them take advantage of you and then leave you when you aren't working for them anymore."

She didn't move, she didn't even try to talk, she just stood there with her eyes on mine, trying to think of something to say to me, or maybe trying to analyze me. I took a deep breath and went to the stairs with her eyes glued to me, watching every step I took, every movement I made, and when I started going upstairs and I passed by her, I stopped, making her swallow the gulp of her throat.

"Good night, princess."

Madison's POV.

Niall went upstairs without looking back at me, leaving me standing there like a fool and repeating the little speech he just gave me on a loop in my head.
