Also known as; Bdoc Brain rot part two electric chair

He didn't know how long they had been talking for. All Doc knew was that Bdubs called, clearly upset, and two hours later they were laughing about something stupid.

Normally, Doc likes to be productive with his time but to be honest, making Bdubs laugh for two hours felt very productive.

But alas, he couldn't talk forever.

"Anyways, I'll talk to you later, okay?" he said, calming down from his laughing fit.

Bdubs slowly stopped giggling, audibly fixing his breathing. "Alrighty, talk to you soon!"

He didn't mean to say it. It just slipped off his tongue. It felt natural as if he'd been saying it for months.

"Bye Bdubs, love you."

The moment the four words escaped his lips, his entire world crashed around him. His heart fell through the floor and he could no longer feel it beating. Doc's face flushed with heat and his brain jumped into panic mode.

"Wait- no- shit- sorry I-" Forming proper sentences was no longer a task the hybrid could fulfill. Suddenly, his head was very loud, full of voices shouting at him, scolding him for letting something so delicate and serious slip out.

However, as soon as they started, all of the voices disappeared, silenced by the sound of a small giggle through the phone.

"Love you too, Doc, bye!"

The hybrid blinked. He pulled his phone away from his face, double-checking that Bdubs had indeed hung up. He felt around behind him for a chair and slumped into one, tossing his phone aside. Doc ran his hands down his face as his heart began to race.

Did he mean it? Or was he joking? Did he think I was joking?

Thankfully, his questions were answered the next day, when he ran into Bdubs. The shorter brunette seemed all the same- a ball of sunshine whose light could never be dimmed. He didn't seem troubled in the slightest, unlike Doc who had been up all night, unable to sleep due to his restless heart.

When the freckled male opened his mouth, most likely to greet him, he couldn't help himself and let the words tumble out of his mouth.

"I-I didn't mean to say that yesterday," he blurted out. Bdubs simply blinked, his smile faltering. "I didn't mean to say it, but I still meant it," he quickly clarified.

Giggling, the builder reached up, hand on his arm, and pressed a light kiss to his cheek. When he stepped back, he slid his hand down to hold Doc's. "Then say it," he teased with a bright grin.

"I love you," the darker brunette murmured, a smile spreading across his lips. He squeezed Bdubs' soft hand and rubbed it with his thumb.

The shorter kissed his nose and pulled back enough so he could gaze into Doc's eyes. He just managed to respond with a soft, "I love you so much," before the hybrid kissed him.
