It's been a minute since I posted a drabble, so have this little headcanon <3

The moment Bdubs got a message from Jevin saying he just spoke with Doc and claimed he looked like he was about to pass out, he stopped construction on the castle and flew over to the perimeter.

He found him on the floating island above, one hand on the wall of signs, his head nodding. "Doc?" He called out before landing. "Tell me you're about to go to bed, right? It's almost midnight." Although he knew his scolding made him seem like a hypocrite, Bdubs would point out that he was getting ready to head in for the night anyways.

Bdubs was ready to hear a mumbled slur of words, protesting sleep and admitting that 'going to sleep at twelve was early' but instead Doc slowly looked at him and gave a small nod.

Cracking a smile, he realized the hybrid was practically dozing off where he stood. And yet, his bionic eye stayed open, still glowing a brilliant red. Only once in the past had he needed to deal with Doc when his robotic half wasn't in sleep mode. It was supposed to be a one-time malfunction and it had been years so he assumed it was fixed. However, he was proven wrong as sure enough, standing before him was a sleeping Doc, somehow still standing with his organic eye closed.

"Okay, c'mere big guy," he softly coaxed, gesturing him over.

Doc slowly walked over to him, looming over as he silently stared down through one eye. His bionic arm gently touched his cheek, the human happily leaning into his palm. As his thumb gently rubbed against his skin, he leaned down, pressing his nose against his forehead. "You're sweet," Bdubs lightly laughed. "Now come on, you gotta fully wake up so you can fly to your house, okay?"

He didn't trust Doc to have full use of his motor skills to be able to control an elytra, no matter how short the distance.

And yet.

Bdubs wanted to shout protests as Doc spread his elytra wings and leaped off the floating island, but he was afraid he'd wake him up completely and that would lead him to fall to his death. Not wanting to cause his partner to die, no matter the ability to respawn, he bit his lower lip as he hastily followed, gliding behind him.

Quickly flying ahead, he landed on the balcony of Doc's house first, so when his partner landed, he met Bdubs' arms. "Alright, bedtime, c'mon," he sighed, guiding him inside.

Once he ensured he was ready to sleep, he kissed his metal cheek. "Have a goodnight Gorgeous, I'll see you tomorrow," he murmured before squeezing his hands.

However the moment he let go, Doc's robotic hand was quick to hold him.

"What is it?" He whispered. When lips brushed his forehead, he let out a heavy exhale, cracking a smile. "You want me to stay, huh?"

When Doc woke up, his memories came flooding back, his face growing hot. Covering his face, he suppressed a groan. I can't believe I acted like that, it's embarrassing.

Hearing soft snoring, his hands slowly lowered as he glanced over at the hermit sleeping beside him.

Rolling onto his side, he was careful when brushing a stray hair from his face before pressing a kiss to his forehead. Bdubs grumbled, though a sleepy smile formed on his lips as he snuggled against Doc's chest. Lightly laughing, the hybrid decided sleeping in a bit longer than normal would be alright, so he closed his eyes once more as he loosely held his partner.
