When I say that Grian being nervous to ask Bdubs to be his roommate in the Upside Down gave me fuel, it gave me fuel. Nervous Grian is just- yes please. Also, I know Grian is shorter than Bdubs, but not in this household. I gave him an inch over Bdubs. Also, I hope y'all accept this fluff as an apology for that Gridubs oneshot lmao

Grian glanced over to his roommate of one year, who was staring up at the night sky. His arms were crossed on the balcony railing, and by the look in his eyes, the blonde could tell Bdubs' mind was far away.

If you don't say something now, who knows when a better time will arise? The taller boy told himself as he leaned on the railing, gazing at the moon. You were able to ask him to be your roommate, and that took a lot of courage. If you think about it, this really isn't that different. Sighing, he ran a hand through his hair. No matter what he told himself, he knew it was different. Heart racing, he turned to Bdubs, leaving one arm resting on the railing.

"Hey Bdubs, can I tell you something?" he quietly asked, pulling his tan roommate back from wherever he mentally was.

"Sure, what's up?" he asked, turning his head to face him.

His sweet smile made Grian blushed and his heart skipped a beat as it continued to run.

"I uh, really like you. Like, really like you. And um, I was wondering if you maybe wanted to go out with me?" he asked, his voice growing smaller and smaller with each word. "You don't have to, of course!" he quickly added. "It's perfectly fine if you rather we stay friends, I'd completely understand!"

Bdubs turned so that he was completely facing his blonde roommate.

"Are you asking me to be your boyfriend?" His eyes sparkled and he leaned towards his friend.

Feeling embarrassed, Grian looked away. "Something like that," he muttered, pulling at a piece of his hair.

Smiling softly, Bdubs moved his hand across the railing and placed it on top of Grian's causing the blonde's head to snap. With his free hand, he held the nervous blonde's cheek, stroking it. With wide eyes and a red face that matched his sweater, the roommate could feel his heart pounding against his rib cage as an attempt to break free.

"I'd love to." The freckled boy was now blushing as well.

"Really?" the short blonde let out a small laugh of relief, only to feel like he needed to hold his breath when the brunette leaned in closer.

"Can I?" he murmured, their lips practically touching.

"Y-Yeah," the nervous boy whispered before Bdubs closed the tiny gap between them.

They locked fingers as they kissed and the tan brunette moved his hand from Grian's cheek down to his chest. In response, the slightly taller male placed his hand onto Bdubs' waist, leaning into the kiss.

"So are you doing anything tomorrow?" the blonde asked, smiling when they finally pulled apart.

"I'm free all day," the freckled brunette told him.

"Then it's a date!" Grian declared, grinning.

His smile widening, the tan roommate flung himself at Grian, wrapping his arms around his neck. The poor guy stumbled backward, bracing himself on the railing as he laughed. He couldn't help himself as he pulled Bdubs closer into a hug.
