Ok ok so ages ago I wrote a drabble that took an angsty take of the direct aftermath of the S7 explosion of Goat Mountain. I had written up the sequal in a minecraft book but I hated it and scrapped the idea. User LavenderDRXXM actually asked for a sequal a bit ago and I finally made one I liked! And now I'm debating writing a third and final part lmao

Bdubs' stomach growled, reminding him once again that he had been out of food for a day.

He had spent the past week hiding in the ravine.

No, not hiding.

He's just been very dedicated to caving.

Gotta gather those resources, right?

At least that's what he would've messaged Keralis before he accidentally dropped his communicator down the ravine and heard it shatter.

Bdubs knew one day he was going to have to leave the ravine and face Doc. Face his mistake. But the thought of the absolute hatred he would see burning in his neighbor's eyes shook him to his core.

His guilt had chained him to the ravine, refusing to let him out.

-

The freckled hermit opened the double chest near the entrance of the cave, dumping the redstone and iron he had found. Exhaling through his nose, he double-checked that the chest was completely full.

Bdubs had decided everything he had collected, down to every last diamond and piece of coal, would be given to Doc as an apology gift. As a; 'spare me from the wrath of your blade' gift.

Hopefully it was enough.

Walking towards the ravine itself he realized the sun was setting and yawned. Despite feeling hungry and dirty he crawled into his bed. As he curled up, Bdubs heard footsteps above him and the faint calling of his name, but he was too tired to process it.

-

He awoke with a pounding headache and a grumbling stomach. Blinking, he looked around and creased his brow.

Pink walls with matching pink sheep decorations.

Pink bed and...

A window with a clear view of the now destroyed Goat Mountain.

Why am I in Doc's room?!

Bdubs frantically looked around, and then he heard it.

Creaking stairs.

Frozen in fear like a deer in headlights, he stared as Doc emerged from the bedroom entrance, a bowl of mushroom stew and a water bottle in hands. "Oh, you're awake!" A relieved smile stretched across the hybrid's face as he sat on the edge of the bed.

"What uh- What am I doing here?" He whispered, scooching away.

"Well, last night I found you in the ravine, and you weren't waking up. And I was sc- concerned, so I brought you back here," Doc said, offering the water. "Lunch?"

He didn't move, only stared at him, trying to figure out his ulterior motive. Was the food poisoned? Was he going to stab him once he left the room? But all he could find was worry rooted deep in his eyes.

Hesitantly, he accepted the water. "Aren't you... mad? Don't- Don't you want to kill me?"

Doc sighed. "You seriously don't remember what I said?" He whispered. "I'd never want to kill you. Promise."

"But I ruined your mountain!"

The darker brunette slowly nodded. "Well okay yeah I was mad, and still kinda am, but I was honestly just going to make you rebuild it with me. I actually was going to try and scare you as payback, but then you went missing for a week and you kinda ended up scaring me instead," he quietly admitted.

"Doc," the freckled hermit whispered.

"Bdubs," he countered. "You didn't talk to anyone. For a week. People were getting worried! I was worried! Why didn't you message anyone?"

He bitterly laughed. "I uh, I dropped my communicator down the ravine. It's sitting down there, completely destroyed," he mumbled as he hugged his knees.

The hybrid patted his head. "We can talk to Xisuma about getting a new one. Now you eat this and take a shower, okay?" He handed over the bowl of mushroom stew before standing up.

"Wait, wait! I- There was a chest, a double chest. It-"

"Ah, yeah I saw that. Listen, I appreciate the gift, but I can't accept that."

Bdubs shook his head. "No, I insist, it's all yours."

Doc sighed into a small smile. "Fine, I'll accept half. And nothing more."

"So... you're seriously not- you don't want to kill me?" He double-checked, clenching the bowl.

"No," Doc assured him, his smile growing. He leaned over the bed, his surprisingly soft lips delicately brushing his forehead. Heat quickly rose to his face, leaving him flustered and stunned. "I promise I don't want to kill you. Now you get your rest and clean up, we got a lot of work to do starting tomorrow."

Bdubs silently nodded, watching as the taller brunette left the room before digging into his meal. So he didn't hate him, didn't want him dead. Everything was fine but, why was his heart still racing?
