Chapter 13

*Two weeks later*

KD and I are back together . And honestly I couldn't be happier . I moved back in with him and we're slowly working everything out . He's so happy about the happy and I love that. .

"Baby breakfast is ready" KD sais to me . I slowly got off the couch and made my way into the kitchen . I sat down he placed a plate full of food down for me . "Thank you" I said to him . "No problem" He said as he sat down eating .

I finished up my plate and KD looked at me crazy. . "What? I was hungry" I said to him . "And um . Can you fix me some more I'm still hungry" I added .

"What? nah Lani you don't need all that" He said . "Fine. . I'll get it myself" I said getting up . He sighed .. "Sit down Lani" He said while getting up and grabbed my plate . I smiled and sat back down . He fixed my plate and sat it in front of me and I began to eat .

*Hours later*

KD and I are on our way to the mall . We got in the car and drove out the drive way .

15 mintues later we pulled up at the mall and got out . "Where to first baby" KD asked me . "Umm. . Michael Kors" I said . "Alright let's go" He said grabbed my hand and pulling me closer to him .

We walked inside of Michael Kors and I began to look at purses . I held up a brown and cream colored on and showed KD , "Is this one cute baby?" I asked . He looked at me as if I had two heads . "Lani I don't fucking know.. Ima dude" he said . I laughed and put it back .

I ended up with 3 purses. . KD paid for them and we left . We went to more stores and got us some shoes and clothes .

"Babe , I'm hungry" I said looking at him . He looked at me and shook his head , "Yo ass always hungry" He said . "And so what? let's go to the food court" I said walking a little faster .

KD's P.O.V

We walked to the food court and looked around at our options . "What you Lani?" I asked her . "Chick-Fil-A .. that's fine with you" she said . "I'm not hungry ima just get you something" I said as we walked towards Chick-Fil-A .. "No.. get some fries or something I don't like to what by myself" She said .

'Her crazy ass' I thought to myself . "Ok" I said . We walked up and looked at the menu . A ratchet ass girl came to the cash register . "How may I help you" She asked looking at him licking her lips . 'This bitch' I said to myself . "What you want baby" I asked Lani . "Number 2 with sweet tea no ice" She said . "Ok" the girl said . "And a small fry" I added . She gave us our ticket and it said number 28 .

We walked to a table and sat down waiting for our number to be called .

"28" the girl said . "I'll get it" I said getting up . I walked up the girl and grabbed the food walking off . "Wait" She said. . I looked back and she was holding out a peace of paper for me to grab. . "Here's my number , call me sometime" .

I grabbed the paper and looked at her . "You see that girl over there? Yea that's my wife the only number I need is hers , disrespectful ass I know you seen her with me" I said as I balled up the paper and threw it at her .

I walked over to the table and sat the food down . "What she wanted" Lani asked . "Shit.. tryna give me her number" I said . "Oh word? I'll fuck her up" Lani said . I laughed , "Baby. . I'm all yours don't worry" ..

We finished eating and left the mall heading home . As we were in the car my phone ringed . I looked to see it was Killa . "Wassup nigga" I asked answering the phone . "Man. . Get to the trap like now" He said into the phone . I hung it up and did a U-Turn . "Where you going" Lani asked . "The trap" I said .

We pulled up at the trap and got out . I did the secret knock , Killa and answered the door and let us in . "Wassup" I said . He motioned us to my office .

"Some niggas tryna have war bruh" He said . "Who. . when?" I asked . "Blue Gang niggas. . And tonight" He said . "Tonight? Why tf yeen say nun before I brung Lani here.. Look ima take her home and I'll be back" I said to him .

"Ok.. see ya li sis" He said to Lani.. "Bye Killa" She replied . We walked out my office and headed towards the door . Next thing you know niggas bust in and started blasting .

"Shit" I said and pulled out ny gun shooting I pulled Lani out the way and kept shooting .

Once it stopped I looked around and seen nothing but dead bodies . "Killa you straight" I said . "Yea man I'm good" He said . I felt something on my hand and looked down to see blood . I looked over my body and I wasn't shot .

"KD" I heard Lani call out . I ran to her and seen blood on her stomach through her shirt . "Baby" I said picking her up bridal style . "Stay with me Lani" I said . "Killa she got shot.. Drive us to the hospital man" I said .

We got in the car and I sat in the back seat with Lani . "Keep your eyes open baby. . Don't die on me Lani" I said to her . "I-It hurts baby" She cried as blood came out her mouth . Her eyes slowly began to shut . "NO ! Lani Keep them open baby" I said to her but her eyes closed anyway . I felt tears run down my face .

"Killa drive faster man shit!" I yelled out . "I'm going as fast as I can!" he yelled back .

We pulled up to the hospital and I got out holding Lani. . We ran in and she got rushed to the back .

We sat in the waiting room for hours waiting for a doctor to come out . I don't know what I would do without Lani and she got shot in her stomach I'm hoping the bullet missed the baby and both of them can survive .

"Family of Lanelle Tate" A doctor said coming out . Killa and I jumped up . "Is she ok? is the baby ok" I asked quickly . "I'm sorry but we couldn't save the baby. . the bullet was extremely close to the baby and she lost a lost of blood . She's in a coma and sir. . Its not looking good I'm sorry" He said .

I felt my eyes water . "Can we see her" Killa asked . "Right this way" He said as he led us to her room . We walked inside and rushed to her beside . The tears in my eyes fell .. The last time I cried was when Adri died .. I can't lose Lani too .

"Baby , please wake up for me . If  you can hear me. . I love you" I said as I grabbed her hand .

"I'm sorry li sis" Killa said kissing her forehead and I seen tears fall down his face . Killa and I been bestfriends for years and I've never seen him cry that's how I know he really cares and love Lani as a sister .

"Its gone be ok man.. My li sis strong" He said as he wiped his tears.. I nodded my head hoping he was right.. I couldn't live if I lost Lani I love her so much .
