【Ｃｈａｐｔｅｒ ５】

(𝗬/𝗡) 𝗣𝗢𝗩

It's been already two weeks since we started teaching Langa how to skate. He has gotten a lot better, it's just that he does fall quite often.

We were currently sitting on the benches in the skatepark.

We had a little pause because Langa's hand was bleeding because of a fall.

"You sometimes bleed when you snowboard too, right?" asked Reki, as he put a bandage over the bleeding places on Langa's hand.

"Almost never. It's mainly bruises or broken bones," answered Langa Reki's question.

Out of curiosity, I turned my head to look at Langa and I asked: "So, Langa, why did you come hero to Okinawa?"

"It's because my dad died. This is where my mom grew up. I was looking for a job so that I could help out with the family income," said Langa without showing any emotions.

I turned my head to look at the sunset. "Oh" was the only thing I could think of.

"Is it boring out here? I mean it doesn't snow. You can't snowboard." asked Reki as he also looked at the sunset.

"After my dad died, I didn't snowboard in Canada, either," responded Langa nonchalantly, as he stood up and continued talking. " But...after getting on a board for the first time in a while...for some reason..." Langa didn't finish right away because he started to skate forward." But right now...I'm having fun!" said Langa as he jumped on the skateboard.

As Reki and I were about to cheer for him, he fell to the ground with a loud "Ouch".

I stood up, taking Reki's hand and started running towards the fallen Langa.

I crouched down as I said to Langa: "How do you feel after nailing your first ollie?"

Langa swiftly stood up and said excitedly: "It feels really good!"

Reki and I burst out laughing. I looked at Reki and said:" I guess you could say we are good teachers?". Reki looked at me and patted my head, then responded with a big smile:" Yeah we are!".

'He is so cute!', I said to myself as I blushed because of the adorable smile.

{Time Skip}

We were now in Dope Sketch as Reki was telling out manager how quickly has Langa learned the ollie.

"He nailed an ollie in just two weeks! It took me two months!" exclaimed Reki as he put his arms happily around Langa and me.

"That was simply jumping over a twig, right?" asked our manager.

Reki was about to say something as I heard the door open.

"Welcome--wait you're..." I stopped talking as I was taken back by the person who has just entered the shop.

"Miya Chinen, the Japanese national hopeful!" exclaimed Reki.

Miya started walking towards me. He took my hand in his and said: "Miya Chinen, it's nice to meet you" he said as he winked at me.

I didn't get to introduce myself because he started walking."Hey, you there, run a beef against me in "S" " said, Miya.

"Beef? That's out of blue, and i-" Miya disturbed Reki and said: "I have no need for slime like you".

Miya walked in front of Langa and started talking: " I want to hear the ding of leveling up for the first time in a while. You're fine with it, right?"
