Third Person P.O.V.

"What's the matter? Scared of a little lightning?" Steve asked the wary looking Loki. "I'm not overly fond of what follows." He noted the lack of ice, and couldn't decide if he was disappointed or pleased. The jet shakes violently, and the ramp opens. Thor walks in, and grabs Loki by the throat and flies out. Steve and Tony are left dumbstruck.

(Y/n) P.O.V.

"Finally. That took you forever." I jest. Thor doesn't find it amusing, I suppose, as he spares me a glare. Thor throws Loki into the side of the mountain. He raises Mjolnir threateningly. "Where is the Tesseract?" Loki laughs. "I missed you too." I frown. "Loki, just answer the question, please." I say, pinching the bridge of my nose. "Please? Do you think that would make him talk?" Thor yells. "At least I'm not threatening to smash his head in!" I retort.

"Oh, you should thank me. With the Bifrost gone how much dark energy did the Allfather have to muster to conjure you here? Your precious Earth." Thor doesn't respond. He drops Mjolnir, and lifts Loki by the front of his shirt. "I thought you died." I shove one of Thor's arms away to look Loki in the eye. "Why did you do it?"

"Did you mourn?" Is all he asks. "How could you ask that?" I hiss. "We all did. Our father..."

"Your father. He did tell you my true parentage, did he not?" I grab Loki's shoulder. "That doesn't change a thing. You're our brother. Remember what I said?"

"You couldn't care if I was a serpent," I was almost touched he remember it at all, "but I'm more than that. I'm the monster we were warned about all our lives." Thor lets go Loki, and Loki moves backwards, furthering their distance. "We were raised together, we played together, we fought together. Do you remember none of that?"

"I remember a shadow. Living in the shade of your greatness. I remember you tossing me into an abyss. I was and should be king!" I grow angry at his words. "You let go! You were not dropped. We still wanted you to come home!"

"So you take the world I love as recompense for your imagined slights. No, the Earth is under my protection, Loki."

"And you're doing a marvelous job with that. The humans slaughter each other in droves, while you idly threat. I mean to rule them. And why should I not?"

"You think yourself above them."

"Well, yes." I fight the urge to smack my palm against my forehead. "Then you miss the truth of ruling, brother. Throne would suit you ill."

"I've seen worlds you've never known about! I have grown, Odinson, in my exile! I have seen the true power of the Tesseract, and when I wield it..."

"Who showed you this power? Who controls the would-be-king?"

"I am a king!" I frown at Loki's lack of response. Who...

"Not here! You give up the Tesseract! You give up this poisonous dream! You come home." Thor ends weakly.

"I don't have it. You need the cube to bring me home, but I've sent it off. I know not where." Mjolnir flies back to Thors grasp. "You listen well, brother. I..." Before he can finish, he is knocked off the mountain by a force I do not get a proper glimpse of. My mouth hangs open. "I'm listening." Loki says, looking off in the direction he went.

"Is there someone making you do this?" I ask hurriedly. "What?" I put my hands on his shoulder. "I know you, brother. This-This doesn't seem like you, Loki. Is there someone making you do this? Just tell me and we can stop him." He shoves me away. "You know nothing of me." He points off to the distance where I can see Thor has made a crash landing. "You might want to focus on your brother."
