The young girl walked beside her father, copying his posture. It was silent until she broke it. "When I grow up, Father, I'm going to be a Valkyrie." He looked at her, amused. Yet his mind swam with memories. "Who told you about them? Was that in your studies?" She shook her head. "No, Thor's. He told me. I want to be a good warrior. He is angry because they are only women, and he is not one. But I am." Finally, something she could do that her brothers could not. "The Valkyrie ended many years ago." He told her. "Then I guess I'll just have to start it again."
The memory seemed so far away now. She hardly remembered the people in it, hardly remembered herself. She tried to hang on, but the more she tried to remember, the more she seemed to forget.
