“Are you really sure this is a shortcut?” Klaus blurted his doubt on the path after sometime while Jaz is driving.

“I’m the one who knows the directions, right?” Jaz confidently brushed his comment aside at eksaheradang nagpunas ng pawis sa noo.

“Tss. Just don’t think about fooling us!” Klaus said, irritated with how Jaz have the courage to talk back.

“Hey, don’t worry,” Kol said.

“Even if I was not able to erase the memories of all the people in the Presidential palace?” singit ni Elijah.

“Yes, wait, what??”gulat na tanong ni Kol nang ma-realize kung ano ang sinabi ni Elijah.

“Dammit! But.. we’ll get through this,” Kol assured me with a smile as he held my hand, without even bothering anymore to look again at Elijah who bothered him.

“I know,” I said as I squeezed back.

“Once we get there, it’s your chance to prove your nature. It won’t be easy, but the Madrigals vowed to be with you whatever happens,” I heard Elijah softly say since the three of us are in the backseat.

“I see.” I nodded in agreement. “I’ll do my best then, so please stay by my side.”

With that, I noticed Elijah and Kol grew serious as they nod, while Klaus just wore his usual smirk.

These three... I could never accomplish anything if they’re not with me. I want to stop being a burden and do what I must.

Then Kol smiled in his small victory and contentment.

“We’re here!” Jaz announced as she put off the engine. “I’ll save you Nath!” She said with full determination as she rushed outside to check the place.

“We can’t let her leave us, right?” Elijah asked and went out as well.

Klaus hastily followed suit.

So now, it’s just Kol and I inside the car.

“Um, we should go too,” I said but Kol made no change in his position. His arms were still wrapped around me.

“We could go later.”

“But..”

“Just a little bit.”

“Okay. What’s wrong? Cold feet?”

“Me? Cold feet? Never! I already knew that we’d be overwhelmed with risks like this from the very start.” He sighed and raised his head a bit.

“Yeah, when I first met you and I discovered your true nature, the moment I woke up and saw you ruffling my hair instead of Nath, I knew then and there that you were trouble.” I smiled cheekily.

“Would you not mind if it was Nath then?”

I gently shook my head. “Nath is my bestfriend so it’s natural that I care for him, but I love troubles more. I realized this when we had a fight before. You’re different, but I don’t care about that, because you are my 500-year old boyfriend.”

“Let’s get going,” Kol said as he pushed open the door and went out. Then he offered his hand to me.

“Yes.” I said as I reached out and stepped one foot outside.
