Hindi lang iyon. Kasama ko rin siya rito sa loob! “No worries. I heard from Kol that you’re a deadline beater.” Tang na rambutan!! Why is this happening to me?

Tch. “Si Kol talaga. Nakakahiya naman sa iyo. Pero tutulungan niya raw ba ulit ako na tapusin iyon bago mag-Friday? Tsaka nasaan ba siya ngayon?”

“Now get back to reading if you really look forward to meeting him after this, unless you want to train forever.” He smirked.

“Never!” Tch. How is this training anyway? Why am I reading each vampire clan’s history, vampiric antics, and the history of an origin? Why can’t I just go straight to trying my ability?

I just gave him a glare.

“I wonder why Kol likes you.”

“No, pero kilala ko ang kapatid ko.” Tch. Kung lagi na lang kasi siyang magtagalog ng ganyan e baka mas okay pa! Marunong naman siya e.

“Maybe you just miscalculated,” sabi ko at nagkunwaring magpapatuloy na sa pagbabasa so i turned the next page.

“Or maybe you just don’t want to expect?” he asked as if we’re playing a guessing game although he may already knew the answer.

I stopped scanning the book and looked at him straight in the eye. “Binabasa mo na naman ang isip ko e.”

Siya naman ngayon ang nag-iwas ng tingin as if nakakapaso ang titig ko. Buti naman! “Yeah, well, anyways, you have to be serious about reading these books because they’re all about our history. An origin’s existence is always attached to a vampire’s.”

“Naisip ko rin iyon, pero bakit kailangan pa talagang mag-umpisa ko sa pinakasimula? Hindi ba pwedeng homework ko na lang ito?”

“So?” Tumayo siya mula sa pagkakaupo sa kaharap kong upuan sa table at namulsa as if the coast is clear between the two of us. “Any more questions?”

Napalingon ako sa paligid. I still don’t get it. Bakit sa tagal naming magkakilala, when he pretended as Em and even now that I already know his true identity ay hindi pa rin kami ganoon ka-cool sa isa’t-isa? “Ano.. Kailan ka pa nagkaroon nitong secret library mula sa kwarto mo?” Amazing nga nang ipakita niya kung paano ito buksan through his closet.

“Really?” He’s a genius for having this!!

I noticed that his cheeks are rather flushed and he almost clumsily lost hold of the mug in his hand before he placed it on the table. Was it because of the compliment I thought about him? Man, compliments are not good for him.

He faked a cough and I just grinned. “I’m surprised that even Kol didn’t figure this out.”
